Jylian's p.o.v.

I woke up to someone shaking my shoulder. As I woke up I heard Mia's voice. I bolted up.

"Mia!" I launched out of the hospital bed and hugged her tightly. She pulled back and looked at me.

"I'm sorry, who are you?"

"I'm Jylian, your best friend!" I looked at her, waiting for her to laugh and tell me its a joke. But she didn't.

"Come on, you have to remember!" I yelled, tears running down my heated cheeks. I grabbed her shoulders, searching her eyes. They were dull, like all her happiness had been drained.

A nurse opened the door, her heels clicking on the white tile floor. Her scrubs were Disney scrubs, with various animated characters. I'm guessing she was a children's doctor. Her name tag said Nurse Hallows.

I thought nurses are supposed to have sneakers? Strange...

She grabbed my arm and pulled me out to the hallway.

"You need to understand one thing, Miss Vasquez. Mia doesn't remember you. How long have you been friends?" I thought for a moment.

"Probably around three or four years." I said. Nurse Hallows looked at me, surprised. She mumbled to herself.

"Then she can remember almost everything. Her brain doesn't want to remember the..." She paused, trying to find the right word. "Incidents that happened. It puts up a wall and hides the memories behind it. Since you are part of those memories, her brain has put you there too. Along with everything in her memory related to you. She has to allow herself to break that wall."

I nodded, trying to process all this new information.

"Now please contact her mother to come get her. And keep your distance."

I started to walk away but stopped as she mumbled something.

"What?" I said. She smiled.

"Cecilia will get out."
