~Next Day~
*Esme POV*
"Jake! Cole! Alex! Lina! Chris!" I shouted up the stairs, "Come eat your breakfast before it gets cold!"
"Coming!" Five voices shouted back.
After my kids and Chris were seated, I served each of them a stack of French toast with strawberries as a topping.
"Cole, pull your hood down when were at the table." I say.
"Jake, how's school been so far? Any new friends?" Chris asks after a few minutes pass by.
"It's whatever, Dad." Jake mutters, now moving his food around on his plate.
"How about you, Cole?" I ask.
He puts his head down and mumbles an answer.
"Speak clearly Cole!" Chris says, looking up from his breakfast, "and I believe your mother told you to pull your hood down." Cole stiffens but doesn't make a move to fix his hood.
I pushed away from my chair, and moved till I was crouched down in front of him. Pulling his hood back, my face blanks. His lower lip trembles as he waits for my reaction.
"Es?" Chris asks as I walk to the freezer, but I ignore him. Pulling out a bag of frozen peas I walk back over to Cole and put it on his bruised cheek bone.
"Kids go watch tv in the living room for a little bit."
Chairs scrape the floor as the other three kids go into the living room leaving just Chris, Cole, and I.
"Who?" I say in a monotone voice.
"Bryan," He whispers, "He was picking on this girl and I told him to stop...he got mad and hit me. I told him to stop and he said no because his brother told him he needs to fight for what's his."
"Who's his brother?" Chris asks, venom seeping through his voice.
"Walter." He replies eyes downcast. Looking at the clock it says 7:15 am.
"Alright, let's get going you guys." Chris is the first to take off with Alex and Lina.

After pulling into the parking lot, I open my door and glance around looking for him.
Since he's quarterback, he's usually sitting with the football team with a cheerleader in his lap. But my search still came up blank. The bell rings and the football team gets up to leave the table, walking over I stop a running back.
"Where's Walter?" I ask.
"I don't know. But he has Mr. Green right now."
I nod and walk away in that direction. Classes have already been in session for about ten minutes when I walked in.
"Es-" Mr. Green started to say before I turned a deadly glare on him, he stayed silent knowing I'm pissed.
Looking around the room I see him slouched down in the third row. Walking towards him, i plaster a fake smile on my face.
"Hey, Walt."
"Hey Beautiful." He says smirking.
"How's your morning been?" I ask casually, pulling out one of those mini liquor bottles.
"Better now that you're here." He replies watching me with lust filled eyes as I down the shot.
"Mmm...you want one?" I ask licking my bottom lip seductively, " Mr. Green won't care...he doesn't care about ANYTHING I do."
Hesitation flashes in his eyes, before that arrogant smirk takes over. "Sure, babe."
He slugs the bottles contents back, looking me in the eye the entire time.
He keeps eye contact as he sets the empty bottle down, only when the glass his the table do I let the fake smile leave my lips. His face pales and I know he can see the murderous look in my eyes.
Standing up abruptly, I grab him by his collar and slam him against his desk top. The students are left gasping and stunned.
"You think it's cool to teach your little brother to pick on girls?" I pick him up and slam him against the desk again, "You think it's right to teach your brother to see girls and women as property!" Another slam.
"I-I-I'm sorry, Esme! I'm sorry!" He pleads.
I lean in and give a deadly whisper, "The next time MY SON, comes home with another bruise because of your brother...I'm coming after you. You can count on that." With that I release him and storm out of the room still pissed.
