Chapter 18

Diana's P.O.V

Sitting on the desk, with my head in my hands I tried to think of a way to get out of the classroom. After rattling my brains for a while, suddenly a possible way to find help came up in my mind.

" Cody, we don't have our phones, but you do right? We can call someone and ask them for help" I said while getting up and walking towards Cody.

" Yeah..just wait a sec"Cody said while he searched his pockets. "Where is it.....Its got to be here somewhere.."

As the minutes passed by and Cody couldn't find his phone the glow of hope on my face started diminishing.

"Shit! I am really sorry Diana. I had given my phone to Caitlyn.....in the lunch break....and I guess I forgot to take it back from her" As those words left his mouth the little hope that I had shattered into a million pieces.

I just took in a deep breath and pinched the bridge of my nose to try and calm myself down. Walking to the window in the classroom I began to look out in the distance to try and clear my mind from all the negative thoughts I was having. As I looked at the ground below, another idea popped into my head.

" Guys!" I practically screamed which made both of them snap their heads in my direction. "We are only on the first floor of the building. If somehow we managed to get a rope, one of us can climb down and go and get help"

On hearing my plan, Cody's face lit up." Gosh you're a genius Diana. That's a really good idea"

"Nothings so great about it. You are acting like she figured out a great puzzle that nobody had figured out for years. I too thought about that idea anyway" Royce said nonchantly. I don't know whats got into him that he is behaving so rudely and cold with me. I just rolled my eyes and began to search the classroom for some rope or any material with which we could make one.

I found a few sweaters and shirts in one of the cupboards in the classroom with which I made a rope by tying the sleeves together. As expected, both of those lazy boys were just sitting there and looking at me work.

After checking whether each knot was secure I walked to where they were standing and asked "So now the big question, who is going to be the one to go out of the window?"

" Not me " both of them said in unison. I just let outa deep breath, completely irritated with how unhelpful they were.

" Well if nobody volunteers then we will have to decide who will go by playing a round of stone, paper, scissors. Agreed?"

Both of them nodded their head. " Ok then, here we go.....stone, paper scisors" I said after which, each one of us chose their respective ones.

Cody and I did scissors while Royce did paper.

" This isn't fair.I know both of you have conspired against me. This is cheating" he said while looking at us suspiciously.

" I am so done with your tantrums Royce. You were here throughout and you know we didn't cheat. Just because you lost, you don't need to blame others for that." I said completely furious by his irritating attitude. " Anyway, you are out, so come on now, prepare yourself to go"

He just rolled his eyes and went to the window. Cody and I held onto one end of the rope while we let the remaining fall to the ground.

Royce looked down out of the window while gulping nervously.

" Scared of heights?" I asked with slight amusement in my voice.

" No, are you kidding, me and scared of heights. No way. Its only stupid sissy girls like you who get scared of heights" Royce said while sitting on the window sill and holding the rope tightly. I just tried to ignore his cold attitude.
