-2 years later -

I stare at the letter from Harry, full of broken promises. I don't understand how he can promise me everything, say he loved me and then leave me hanging for two years. No word from him or anything. I feel so rejected and lost. I really wanted to believe he was the one for me. I don't know what to believe anymore. I open my drawer and pull out the ring he gave me. I shove it into my jeans. Caroline walks in, I jump. She sees the letter in my hand. "Georgia..."

"I know, I know!" I roll my eyes, "I shouldn't be reading this letter because it makes me all sad," I say in her voice mockingly.

"Georgia, he missed out. Not you, look at you! You're going to college! You're going to be successful! You will find another man! One who won't leave you hanging for two god damn years! I hate to see you reading that letter, atleast you don't start balling like you did the first three months after you got no messages from him."

"Thank you," I sigh, "The pain just lingers now, I just feel emotionless to it all now. I don't ever wanna feel like this again, and I don't know how to make this feeling go away.. I need closure, you know? I want to ask him how he could do this to me."

"Maybe one day you will, but for now, we got to move on." Caroline rubs my shoulder and then picks up my last suitcase full of clothes. I'm moving in to my new room for college today. It's a couple hours from home, so I'm a little scared, but I'm also excited to start a new chapter in my life. I stare at my empty room for a good second and then walk out. I walk into my living room where my parents are waiting to say goodbye. I won't see them til a couple of weeks.

"Oh, sweetheart!" My mom runs to me, squeezing me until i feel numb. "We're going to miss you so much! You know how much we love you right?"

"Yes, and I love you too." I say, hugging them both.

"Drive safe," My mom chokes, holding in her tears. I smile and walk out the door. Caroline is in the passenger side of my car already.

"You know how to get to my house right?" Caroline asks, as I'm hopping into the driving side.

"Yes, but first I need to make a stop."

"Where?" She says, confused.

"You'll see." I slide on my seatbelt and start driving until I get to my destination. Caroline looks around at the trees and tall grass.

"Where are we?" She says with a frown. I hop out the car.

"Come on!"

"There are ticks in that grass!"

"Don't be such a baby come on!" I exclaim. She groans and gets out the car. I run to grab her hand to help lead her. We start walking through the grass until we come across this mud path. I let go of her hand. "Just follow the path now." I smile.

"Where are we?" She asks again.

"This trail leads to a secret waterfall. I found it myself, I was driving around one day and just came across it!"

"You drove deep into the woods....alone?"

"I wanted to find somewhere to think!"

"Is this trespassing?" She gasps. I never thought of that.

"I don't think so, there would be warning signs I think!" I frown, I start to see the glimpse of water. I start sprinting towards it. I stare at the crystal clear water and the little waterfall. I find an area that looks clean and sit down. I close my eyes and listen to the wind blowing and water splashing into more water. Caroline sits next to me.

"Not trying to ruin your little meditation or anything, but what are we doing here?" She stares at me like I'm crazy. I slip out the ring Harry gave me from my pocket. Caroline rolls her eyes, "Here we go again. Put the thing aw-"

"Shush!," I say standing up, she frowns at me and I continue. "I'm here to let go. Yes, I fell for Harry Style's, yes I wanted him to be the one, yes I believed he would one day reach out to me, yes I don't want to move on, and yes at a point I felt depressed and rejected. But I've thought long and hard about everything about who I am and what I want in life. And I do not want to spend it grieving about what could have been. I don't know what happened to make him disappear, maybe it was me, or maybe he played me, I don't know. But I'm here today, to move on. I want to go to college, work, make friends, and possibly with time find love again. I am in no rush for that last point. In order to move on I need to do this." I close my eyes, a tear I didn't feel coming slips from my eyes. I put the ring to my lips and kiss it and feel the warmth of it in my hands for the last time, then I throw it. I hear Caroline gasp. I don't move to look at her. I watch as the ring flows down the river and get lost deep into the water. I instantly feel better. I even start to laugh.

"That was a great speech and everything, but do you know how much money you could of got from that ring?"

"Money has never meant a thing to me."

After I drop Caroline off, I make my way to college.

I throw my heavy suitcases into the room exasperating, I'm breathing heavily from carrying all the luggage. My roommate stares at me like I'm crazy. "Crap,  didn't know you were here already." I suck in air to catch my breath faster and then walk up to her. "Georgia," I say shaking her hand. She's pretty, short blonde hair and blue eyes. Her lips are shapes almost as a heart. She stands up to reach for my hand and I noticed how short she is. I would say about 4'8, she looks older in her face though, I can't find the words for it. She starts to loosen up, "Gina!" She says a bit too perky. "You are stunning, Georgia!"

"Thank you, likewise."

"I guess I'm suppose to show you around the school! The other side of this room is all yours by the way!" She smiles. I sit down.

"Can I have like 5 minutes to just relax?"

"Sure! Take your time, tell me when you're ready!" She exclaims. I lay on the bed with my eyes closed. I hear the door open, but I don't bother to look at who it is. I'm more tired then I thought.

"Hey!" I hear Gina say. "Caroline!" I look up to meet Dean's eyes. "I'd like you to meet Dean." We stare at each other, both speechless and shocked. He looks good, too good. His hair is slicked back and hes dressed up like he's gone somewhere fancy.

"Is he your boyfriend?" I don't know why I would ask that, but the words flew out before I could think. So many things are running through my head.

"Cousin, you guys look like you've seen a ghost!" She laughs. I don't know why, but I feel so much better when she says they're related. I wait for what he has to say....
