December 23rd

Two days until Christmas, five days until my eighteenth birthday, ten days until we go back home.

My dad was right, maybe I shouldn't have asked about my mum.

Turns out she died in childbirth...I always thought she just left us, but not in that way.

I don't want to leave this place,

I have become attached to the people and my surroundings

Me and Jake have been hanging out with Nash's friends a lot, they're all great people.

And as for me and Sam, he hasn't tried anything, and I don't think he will

That might be a good thing though.
Like I said, there's no point in starting something when I leave LA in ten days.

Do you ever feel like you were born in the wrong country, because I do.

"Are you excited for Christmas and your birthday?" Jake grins widely

"Not really" I shrug

"How are you doing? You know, since your dad told you about your mum" he gives me a sympathetic smile

"I don't know how to feel to be honest, I'm just surprised" I admit

"She's in a better place, I bet she wouldn't want you to be like this"

How am I supposed to know that though, I don't even have any memories of her, and I never will.

"Gabby, don't you think you should get that" Jake brings me out of my day dream, referring to my phone

I look at the screen

'Sammy Wilk' it reads

I decline the call and sigh

"Why are you ignoring him?" He frowns

"Because I like him okay, and yes you can call me stupid, but I do"

"Then what's the problem?"

"The problem is that we go back to London in ten days" I look up at him

"And what? That's what FaceTime is for" he says in a 'duh' tone

"Have you ever been in a long distance relationship? It's like dating a ghost"

(If I stay moment😏)

"Just give him a chance, you never know what could happen" he shrugs

"Like what? My dad gets a promotion and moves us to LA, I don't think so" I sigh

"Just follow your heart, ask yourself what you want"

We are interrupted by my bedroom window opening, revealing Sam

"Sam, what are you doing?" My mouth gapes

"You wouldn't answer my calls" his eyebrows are furrowed

"Um, I'll give you two some time to talk, alone" Jake interrupts, walking out the room
