Chapter 16

~

~Mako's POV~

" Mako-chan!" A vein popped up on my head at the voice of my best friend's annoying boyfriend. I hated that named he called me with.

" What?" I spat, stopping in my tracks.

" What should I get Ren for her birthday?" My eyebrow twitched when Izuna asked me this stupid question.

" She is your girlfriend and you don't know? What kind of a boyfriend are you?" His shoulders slumped and he sighed. I turned my back on him and walked away but replied first. " Get her a gun or something medici e related."

I walked away from the stupid Uchiha and to my boss' office. I stood in front of the door but found myself unable to open it.

What happened days ago, was still fresh in my mind. Due to those happenings, I was able to see deep in my heart and confront my feelings for my boss.

I liked him.

I sucked in a breath and knocked before entering. Madara was not there. Ugh!

He calls me so early in the morning and himself is not here?! Darn that Uchiha!

I laughed at myself for liking someone like him but, love is blind right? I will just make that excuse.

I went back to the training room where I left my cadets to train themselves. I slid opened the door with a scowl but that went away when I spotted my boss in the room.

" Ah, Mako. I was waiting for you." He said and sipped on his tea. Where did he get that?

" What for?" I asked and slipped off my shoes and went in the room. My team was curiously looking from boss to me as we talked.

" This came for you." Madara handed me a sealed envelope.

" Just for that? You have a very busy schedule today." I said taking the letter from him. It was green in colour so I knew who it came from. Ichirou.

" Do tell me what it says." I shrugged and opened it, thinking of a lie since I cannot disclose the real contents.

" Its...from home. I need a day off." I told him and immediately closed the letter. It was a card with a phone number on it.

" But just a day."

" I will take my leave now." I informed my boss, his brother and Ren as I picked my small bag and opened the door of the car.

" Be careful Mako." Ren advised with a worried look in her eyes. Izuna nodded to her comment but my boss, he stepped forward and did something shocking.

He hugged me and kissed me on the cheek. Since his face was hidden, he mumbled in my ear. " I will miss you."

My face was as red as my eyes so I quickly nodded and went in the car. Madara chuckled at my reaction from afar.

I misled the driver on purpose and got off on a different spot than told. I called the number then and was given the correct co-ordinates. I went there almost immediately.

I knew what Ichirou wanted to see me about. I knew too well.

" Is that all the information you got?"  Ichirou asked and I nodded.

" It is everything." I told him and sighed. Ichirou crossed his arms.

" I see." He went into deep thought then informed me. " I will give you a final mission then." I narrowed my eyes. " You know what to do." He smirked.

I did not answer him. I knew what he meant but I was hesitant. If I was told to do this an year ago, I would have easily done it. But now...after an year with the Uchihas, after they have become sort of family, after they felt like a good part of my life... I doubted myself. But it had to be done.

" Well, your answer?" Ichirou pushed.

" Understood."

" Mako, don't do this." Ren pleaded me.

" I have no choice." I had informed Ren of the meeting that happened with Ichirou and also about my mission.

" Mako. Just think for a moment about what you have to do." She tried reasoning with me. I turned to look at her and smiled.

" I know what I must do." I said and hurriedly left her room to march to my boss' office.

I knocked on the door and entered upon receiving permission. I opened the door and took a deep breath and made a straight face.

Madara's back was turned to me and he was looking out of the window. Thank goodness his face was not visible to me or I wouldn't have been able to do my job.

" What is your purpose of being here, Mako?" He asked in his always authority voice. I gulped and took out my gun, pointing it at his head and replied in an emotionless voice.

" Uchiha Madara. It is time that you die."
