Chapter Seven Oh, the Joy of Fame

I am going to base this, slightly, off their Warped setlist from this year, changing King for a Day to Hold on Till May. Because I really like Hold on Till May more than King for a Day (sorry guys, my personal opinion). I hope you enjoy this chapter.

This chapter is mainly just to show Alex in a new light, and bring more depth into her character, you'll see what I mean.

The last set of Warped Tour, which means, let's have some fun with the show.

I stood side stage, watching as the boys all got their headpieces in place, getting set up like they had for the past months. I held Vic's guitar, waiting for him to walk over, hug me, ask me if I'm sure I want to do this, take the guitar, and then wait. He'd wait for the rest of the guys to do what they needed, then they'd start the show.

"If you don't want to do this, Vic wouldn't mind. It wouldn't be the first time I've sung this part," Jaime says, wrapping his arm around me, holding his bass in his other hand.

I leaned my head against his shoulder, "I'll I've gotta do is close my eyes and pretend like it's just me and Ben in his bus," I start, "Besides, it's only one verso of the song, I can manage that. It's nothing compared to the time Ben and I sang Bohemian Rhapsody from beginning to end. That song will forever take the cake on difficulty."

He rolled his eyes, sneaking a kiss on my temple before walking over to the techs, making sure everything was right on his bass.

Vic walked over, standing in front of me. "You don't have to do this," he says.

"Jaime just told me the same thing, saying he could sing the part. Take your guitar, as long as Ben makes it here on time, I'll sing," I say, handing him his guitar, as he pulls me into a hug.

"You're a pretty damn good sister," he whispers, pulling away and walking back to the rest of the guys, starting their pre show ritual, making me roll my eyes at the fact Vic is thirty two and still believes he cannot sing unless he does this.

They went on stage, immediately starting The Divine Zero, just as Ben walked over to me.

"I am here, only like two minutes late for the set," he says, standing next to me and putting his arm around my shoulder.

"I didn't need you here until the song before I had to go on," I say, smiling at him.

I knew Ben wanted to be there for me, and I thanked him for that. He has been my rock since he and I met, and I don't know what I'd do without him. It's hard enough when he's in England.

They played through The Divine Zero, May These Noises Startle You In Your Sleep Tonight, Hell Above, Bulls in the Bronx, and Yeah Boy and Doll Face. As they started Caraphernelia one of the other techs walked over, handing me a mic and helping me to put on a headpiece.

I took a deep breath, and looked at the crowd from my position off stange.

"Usually we'd bring Kellin out," Vic says, causing the crowd to scream, "but we're changing it up today. It's the last day of Warped, so we decided to play Hold on Till May today for you guys. Our guest for this song has never sang in front of people, so let's all be nice when she comes out."

Vic and I agreed I wouldn't come onstage until I started singing, just so I wouldn't panic too much.

He grinned, winking at me, starting to sing, "She sits up high, surrounded by the sun
One million branches and she loves every one
'Mom and dad, did you search for me?
I've been up here so long I'm going crazy...'"
