Pic of skyler above
Song featured in the chapter. Name and credit will be at the end. A bit of violence in the flashback but not too bad I don't think.
++++++++++++++++++++++++The next few of days were uneventful. We spent most of our time hanging around the penthouse.
The guys have me a quick lesson on how to play the guitar so I could start writing songs. I wasn't every good at playing but I could piece together what notes I wanted.
I feel bad for Riley. She hasn't gotten to do much besides sit and watch me fail at writing comprehendible lyrics or watch movies.
Things have started to get more and more comfortable. I feel less like a stranger guest and more like we're becoming friends.
A few nights of 20 questions helped in getting to know them.
I've learned some stuff about everyone, like their favorite color, favorite and least favorite food, dream vacation, basic things.
I still wouldn't tell them my deepest secrets but it's nice to have more than just Riley to talk to.
Don't get me wrong she's great. But I need another perspective sometimes.
"I can't. I just can't do this anymore." I said exasperation in my voice.
"Come on none of these can be that bad." Dixon picked up one of my many sheets of paper I had jotted things down on.
"Don't look it might ruin your eyes"
He didn't heed my warning and looked anyway, "Puppy love? What kind of song title is that?"
"I was looking at pictures of dogs, don't judge. I told you they were bad." I grabbed the paper out of his hand and crumpled it up, "Can't I just sing covers for my act?"
"Yeah you can but having a song of two of your own would help make a name for yourself. Give you a style of your own. Not other people words" Ethan said.
"Wow that's really deep for you bro. Did you read that somewhere?" Colin joked.
"Very funny. I can have intelligent thoughts every once and awhile."
The rest of us just laughed at the two as they got into a friendly argument.
"Why don't you take a break and go somewhere with Riley. Take one of the cars for the day." Stefan offered.
"One of? As in I can choose from multiples?"
"Yeah I'll show you the garage downstairs"
Riley and I grabbed our purses that were sitting on the couch and follows Stefan out of the apartment and down the elevator. The stopped in the underground parking garage. I saw a row of about 5 cars that had reserved signs by them.
I recognized the SUV we took to the beach last week in one of the slots. But after that my eyes were drawn to a sleek navy blue Bugatti.
"Umm can we take that one?" I asked pointing to the beautiful sports car.
"As long as you promise not to scratch my baby" he said handing me the keys.
"Your baby? That's such a guy thing."
"If you had a car like that you'd baby it too."
"True" I hopped in the drivers seat as Riley took the passengers side.
"See you later." Stefan waved as we peeled out of the underground garage.
I followed the GPS out of the city and we took highway 101 up the coastline. It was only about an hour drive because the car was so fast but we made it to Sana Barbra.
