CHAPTER 5: The Regret

I woke up and saw my dead body in Justin's lap. I'm a...ghost. I saw him crying and begging for me to come back, covered in blood and tears. He called 911 and I saw myself being rushed to the hospital. The police asked him questions and he lied once again. He told them that he found me dead with a gun in my hand. Justin rushed to my room urgent to know what happened.

"Doctor. Is she going to be okay?"

"Son I'm afraid she'a in a coma. There's a 30% chance that she'll live. She has major brain damage."

"Okay, thank you. Can I have time alone with her?"

"Yes, I'm sorry that there's nothing else we can do. At this point hope is your only choice."

I watched as Justin walk towards my body. He dropped to his knees, confessing everything and begging for me to come back. I didn't want to, I finally can live in peace. It has been 2 days/nights since I've been in intensive care, Justin was still there. He was sleeping so peacefully. The only way I can talk to him is in a dream.

I entered his dream and he was smiling and glad to see me again.

"Jasmine it's you. I'm sorry. Please don't leave me. I love you and I promise I'll be different. I'll do anything just please!"

"Justin I'm sorry but this is our last good bye. I'll be gone soon."

"No! What am I going to do without you? Who am I gonna go to?"

"You should have thought of that. I'm gone now and there's nothing you can do. I'm gonna leave now...bye, I'll miss you."

Justin woke up as he saw the curves on the monitor turn to a line. Doctors rush in to try and bring me back to life, it was hopeless. They finally broke the news to Justin. I gave him a kiss on the cheek. He put his hand there, he felt that. He knew that meant goodbye. I followed the light, until I see him again this is the end.
