I Promise (SoMa)

It has always been Soul and Maka. Scythe and Meister fighting side by side through any battle. Everyone knows that neither of them could ever be apart. They live together, like how close can you get.

Even the entire gang new that their love for each other was deeper then just friendship but Soul and Maka were just too oblivious to see it. As they walk around together everyone just stares. To think that they were so close but hadn't even taken a second thought on being together as a couple.

You wouldn't expected anything less from the dynamic duo when Lord Death asked them to go on a special mission. They both jumped at the chance. They quickly packed there belongings and made there way to the location of the disturbance reported.

To their own discovery they realised it was two corrupted human souls that were attacking a village in hope of becoming an unstoppable kishin.

However, they knew that they had to defeat the enemy no matter what. So in a recent routine, Maka says in a sweet tone to Soul.

"Promise to not die. Okay."

In an instant Soul replies with a flashy smile "I Promise."

And just like that they enter battle not holding back at all in hope to defeat the enemy swiftly. They continue to work as one while dodging and attack with ease. It was easy for Maka to dodge attacks due to her body size and structure. It was almost like she was built for things like this as she moves gracefully dodging each attack and striking the corrupted humans weak points.

Soon she finished off the human with swift motion, defeating the enemy. However, it was only for a spilt second that Maka forgotten she was fighting two humans not one and before she knew it, Soul had jumped in front of her yet again leaving him a bloody mess on the floor.

This time Maka knew she couldn't lose control but she couldn't stop herself and she leaped forward attacking the human who had cut open Soul. Even without a weapon, Maka was a fighting machine and before thinking about what she was doing the human was laying unconscious on the floor.

Maka rushes over to Soul, gripping him tightly. His warm blood all over her hands as she clutched him in her arms.

With One big scream she says, "You promised Soul. You promised me you wouldn't die!"

As tears run down her cheek she thinks about all the good times they had together. Whether it was just laying around at home or her having to control him during class, those were the best moments of her life. Now she knew, she wouldn't be able to make any more. She continued to sob with her vision going cloudy.

Before she could scream one more time someone grabs her hand.

"And I never break a promise." Soul says with a whisper.
