After school I drove home crying. I ran up to my room and sat on my bed with the shades closed and cryed. After a while I decided I needed some fresh air. I put my hat on and walked to the park. I sat on a bench and bended over, tears streaming from my eyes. I didn't know what to do. There was no one left for me. I put my hands over my eyes and cryed.
"Are you okay?" I heard a voice say. I looked up to see a boy, not much taller than me, brown hair, blue eyes.
"Ya, I guess." I said flatly. He looked down and then sat down next to me. I looked over at him, my eyes still blotchy.
"Whats wrong?" he asked and for some reason at that moment I felt like teling that stranger everything that had happened recently.
"Well Ive been getting bullied a lot latley." I told him.
"Why?" he said as he looked at me.
"Because a mean girl at school....found out I wear a wig....and she told everyone. They are all making fun of me now." I said slowly, tears starting to fall.
"Do they even know why you wear a wig?" he asked with suspition.
"No....I havent told anyone....about why I started wearing a wig...." I said looking up. He just smiled and I knew I should tell him, so i did.
"I....have a brain tumor...in my head...and I have to do Chemo Therepy..." I said quietly. I looked at him assuming he'd get up and leave but he didn't. He looked at me a while and then said, " I have Leukemia...."
"You..do?" I asked surprized looking up.
"Yes." he replied.
"What is your name?" I asked him.
"Eli. I just moved here and i'm going to go to the high school here." He smiled.
"My name is May. I go to the highschool here." I smiled back.
"Nice to meet you May." he said. His bright, blue eyes sparkling.
And then he leaned in and kissed me, right there, in the middle of the park. That was the first time a boy had ever kissed me. It made me feel like i didn't have a care in the world. Like I was free. Then, Mia showed up.
"Hey Baldy!! I see you found a guy stupid enough to date you!!" She sneered and then the war started...Samuel walked out from behind Mia and looked at me.
"Leave her alone!" Eli yelled at Mia. Mia ran up and punched me in the face and then pushed me to the ground. Eli grabbed her and tryed to pull her off me. But Samuel, being bigger than Eli grabbed him and threw him to the ground. He kicked Eli until I could see is mouth was bleeding.
"NO!!! SAMUEL!!! LET HIM GO!!! STOP IT!!!" But I couldn't stop him because Mia had me pinned down and was punching me. I thought the world was going to end.
