His Butler, Imprisoned

(Y/n), Ciel and Sebastian were going over to the crime scene of the dead body that was found in the sea by someone who was out in the ocean at night as the trio had found out the dead body is identify, thanks to the queen's butler. They had already arrived at the scene to see Arthur and Abberline, who were there with some of the Scotland Yard police.

"That won't be necessary. We know his identity. His name is John Stanley. Sebastian and (Y/n) have the rest of his particulars for you." Ciel told the two members of Scotland Yard as the two demons went over to Arthur, handing over the file to Arthur."Inspector." The demons said in unison to the elderly man who didn't seem pleased to see the young earl and his servants.

So he took the file and opened it, taking out some papers, reading over the information of John Stanley. "And what is your interest in this?" Arthur asked the boy,"doing my civic duty and cooperating with the police. Isn't that what you've always told me to do, Sir Arthur?" He reminded him of what he said to him a while ago.

"Spare me the noble protestations. What is it you want with this case? Out with it, phantomhive." Arthur demanded, wanting to know the real reason why Ciel is here."A bit gauche, but if you prefer it that way, I'm happy to oblige. I need to see any belongings left on the victim." The earl finally said the truth, and Abberline then started to speak.

"Well, actually, there were none. Not even any identification papers." This had (Y/n) narrowed her eyes as she and Sebastian gaze at the dead body then they looked over to see a small child peeking through the crowds but flinched at seeing the two demons had caught him staring causing him to start running off as the witch had a feeling that this boy might know something.

"In that case, I'm happy I could be of service. Thank you, Inspector Abberline." Ciel said politely to the man, then he looked over at his maid and butler that was still gazing at the way the boy had run off.

"Sebastian, (Y/n)." He called out to them, who turned to their lord and nodded."Sir." They followed after their master through the crowd as they headed back to the carriage.

They were in the carriage as Tanaka was at the coach, doing the driving as (Y/n) and Sebastian were inside with their master as they could see that something is troubling their lord.

"Is something wrong, our lord? I must say, you seem even more taciturn than usual this afternoon." Sebastian spoke up, looking at the young boy in front of him as (Y/n) is sitting beside him, his hand on her lower back gently causing the earl to glare bitterly at his butler who only returned a teasing grin.

"And I should look pleasant while investigating a murder?" The boy sarcastically questioned with a hint of attitude, and the butler didn't seem bothered by it."You're far too modest, sir. You misheard me. I would never say that you don't look pleasant."

Ciel looked up at his two servants. "This case just makes me a bit uneasy. Clearly, we don't have all the information." He explained how he felt about this case as he could remember the conversation that he had with the queen's butler about telling the earl of what his task is.

That is to find John Stanley and look for the object that he had on him and destroy it but Ash didn't give any details of what the object that he needed to destroy is since it seems that the queen decided not to share that information with Ciel.

It was an odd task to do for the queen to ask Ciel to do, but he knew that he could not turn down the case that he was given, so he had accepted.

"First, we need a better understanding of the situation."

"Meaning what, precisely, sir?" (Y/n) asked, looking at the boy who had his fingers intertwined and resting his hands on top of the cane that he is holding, "we need to know why Stanley was murdered, obviously. Was it simply that he was in the wrong place at the wrong time?"
