Charlie walked out of his apartment. He scratched the back of his head as he remembered the dream from last night. He locked the door and turned around.

He gave a soft grunt when he bumped into someone. Their forehead hit him square in the neck.

-“I’m sorry…” he said and looked down.

He couldn’t believe it. It was her. Kassidy was standing in front of him; she rubbed her forehead and looked up.

Her green orbs opened wide and looked at him. ‘No. It can’t be. It can’t!’ she thought. She looked ahead and walked past him. She wouldn’t give in. But Charlie would.

He grabbed her by the wrist and spun her around, again her eyes opened wide. He pinned her against the wall and kissed her.

Suddenly he pulled away and Kassidy looked up at him blushing like crazy, and this time, he did read he right, but he was a bit busy being shocked. ‘Why did I do that?’ he thought. Charlie himself was taken aback by his actions. So he walked away with a hint of blush on his cheeks. Kassidy stood there looking at him as he walked away. She would never say it out loud. But she wanted to kiss him for a little longer. And Charlie knew; the thought made him smirk. Kassidy thought no one would ever find out about how she wanted to be held by him, how she wanted to hear his hushed voice, or how those eyes of him made her blush for no reason. But Charlie knew.

Charlie walked down the halls of the college, a small smirk spread across his face. The thought of Kassidy made his heart beat faster. Then, suddenly Charlie’s best friend, Logan walked beside him.

“What’s up with that face?” Logan said

“What face?” Charlie said

“That face” Logan said pointing at Charlie’s face

“I don’t see what you mean” Charlie said slapping Logan’s finger away, soon the two boys were making jokes and nudging each other and fighting playfully.

Logan was a 6 feet tall guy. He’d always whine because Charlie was taller than him. Logan had dirty blonde hair and honey hazel eyes. He met Charlie in the second grade, Charlie was sitting alone at recess break, Logan took pity on him, next thing you know, the two were inseparable. Logan had a normal life. His parents were divorced, he had a younger sister. His dad re-married. Logan played basketball. Just a normal 19 year old. Except that when Logan was 14, he murdered a man. It was on a summer afternoon. Logan was just walking down the street after leaving Charlie’s house; a tall man wearing a black hood walked behind him. When Logan made a turn, the man made a turn. Soon he realized the mystery man was following him. Logan tried to lose him, but he had a pretty close call on him. Logan stopped walking, the man pushed him to the ground. He kicked Logan over and over and over. When Logan finally saw his face, he noticed the man was drunk. The man pulled out a gun from his pocket.

“Finally. Finally! Haha!!” the man laughed pointing the gun at Logan, and suddenly, he dropped the gun and fell to the floor. He stood up, he cursed at Logan and kicked him over and over, Logan looked over to the gun, he reached for it and shot the man’s knee. The hooded man fell to the floor, Logan pointed the gun at him, and before he realized it, he pulled the trigger.

‘What have I done… What have I done?!’ Logan thought. He fell to this knees and covered his face with his hands, soon he starrted crying. He stood up and ran away from the murder scene. No one ever found out about it, except for Charlie. Charlie never saw Logan any differently, he just acted like he never heard the story. And Logan liked it that way.

Logan and Charlie walked side by side. When, a short girl with long brown hair called Charlie’s attention.

“I’ll be right back” Charlie said walking away from Logan. And Logan nodded confused.

Charlie walked over to the girl, and just as he thought, it was Kassidy. Charlie grabbed her wrist and spun her around. Kassidy looked at him with wide eyes. And they both just stared. As if they were communicating by staring at each other. Kassidy walked closer to him, she looked up at his gray eyes. And suddenly she noticed how beautiful they were.

“Pretty…” she said suddenly

“Huh?” Charlie said

“Never mind” Kassidy said shaking her head.

‘He’s a sort of beautiful I’ve never seen before’ Kassidy thought. His gray eyes gave away a gaze that could kill. And his hair darker than night itself. She wanted to touch it. ‘Maybe its soft’ she thought.

And without noticing Kassidy stretched her arm out and placed her hand on his head. ‘Its soft and fluffy like a cat’ she thought. And when she really thought about it, Charlie was kind of like a cat.
