~14 years later~
'Elle, can you please take Danny to the bathroom? Max wants me to help him build his toy structure.' Jason called to me as I helped Abby pick out her dress to the dance.
'No hun, I'm helping Abby!' I call back. I knew Abby felt like she wasn't getting any attention lately because of Max and Danny. Max was her seven year old brother and Danny was her two year old sister. Ever since we had Max you could just tell she hated it. I felt way too bad.
'Ok!' He calls. I hear rustling and then walking.
'So, how do you want to do your hair?' I ask her.
'Uh, how about curls!' She says. I nod and began curling her hair.
'So, who's this boy?' I ask.
'Well his name is Shawn and he's so sweet. He said that he wanted to hang out at the dance so that's why I'm going.' She replied. I nodded. Her friend Terry was going and some other ones and she said she wasn't sure. That could be all but who knows.
'Well, you know not to do anything bad right?' I ask her.
'Yes mom.' She replies.
...
'Alright, how about some food?' I ask Max. He shakes his head in disagreement and walks away. He threw up not to long after Abby left and it's been two hours. He came back around with Jason and sat on the couch. Jason sat next to him and turned on a show.
'So did Danny go down well?' I ask.
'Better than before.' He replies. I nod.
...
Abbys POV:'Alrighty kids let's give our dad's a Hanley High School welcome!!' Principle Shulle boomed. I roll my eyes as all the girls pulled their dad's out from the shadows and began dancing to a song. I turned to Terry who was sitting and drinking punch.
'You know, this punch tastes like socks!' She says. She didn't have her dad there because he was a workaholic and Jason didn't come because I didn't want him to come. I mean he wasn't my real dad.
'I want to meet my father.' I say. Terry spits out her punch.
'WHAT?' She asks. I nod.
'Yes I do. I am so sick of Jason not ignoliging me. It's been almost fifteen years! I'm literally about to leave for college!' I say back. Terry stands up.
'Abby, maybe you should ask your mom. She might not want you to know him. What if he went to jail?' I giggle at this.
'He did not. I have spent the past month searching my attic and basement for key things. My plan is if he lives nearby, I'm gonna find him!' I said proudly. She laughs at this.
'Okay but at least let me help.' She says, 'You deserve a father.' I smile. We leave the dance early and go to my house.
'Hey mom I'm home and I brought Terry.' I say setting my clutch down. She rushes in.
'Oh that's nice but your brothers sick and she needs to go home.' She says. Terry nods and gets in her car and drives home.
'Hey mom, I wanted to know about my dad.' I say quietly. She turns.
'What? Honey you know that's a off-topic subject. You've known this forever.' She says. I nod.
'I know but I really want to know.' I say. She frowns.
'I don't want to talk about it. You aren't old enough.' She says grabbing a dish cloth and scrubbing the counter.
'MOM! I'm almost sixteen!' I yell. She hushes me.
'Be quiet! The kids are asleep. Go to bed.' She says. I run upstairs and run into my room and jump on my bed and began sobbing. I really need to know and she won't tell me. Just then I hear crying. I keep sobbing. I really need to know who my dad is and she nor anyone else will stop me. I am meeting my dad
