Two Of A Kind

Chapter 8

"Kerwi!" Maykenzey yelled. I woke up quickly and saw my friends crowded around my bed.
"Good morning sleepy head." Tess said. I rubbed my eyes.
"Good morning." I yawned.
"Come on, we're driving to L.A." Caitlin said.
"Why?"
"To visit Zoe. She just moved into their new college and invited us to visit her."
"Okay." I yawned.

They left the room and I got dressed. I just pulled on my regular clothes. Skinny jeans, Nirvana T-shirt, and black vans. I packed and over night bag and walked out the door.
"Come on." Caitlin said. Everyone was still asleep. Faint snores echoed through the house. I wrote a note and left it on the refrigerator.

Gone to visit Zoe.

I walked out the door and locked it behind me. I followed everyone to the convertible bug.
"I want to drive." Maykenzey wined.
"No, your going to crash my car." Caitlin said.
"No I'm not, just let me drive." Maykenzey said. Caitlin sighed.
"Fine, but your paying for everything you break, got it?" Caitlin said. Maykenzey nodded and Caitlin handed her the keys. Maykenzey jumped in the drivers seat and put the key in the ignition. The bug roared to life and she smiled.
"Get in the car! Come on!" Tess yelled. I quickly got in the back with her.
"Okay, so I put it in reverse." Maykenzey muttered to herself. She put the stick shift in the R and backed out of the driveway. We were on the road and she put it back in 2. She started driving. She stepped on the gas.
"Slow Down!" Caitlin yelled.
"Oh come on. It's four o'clock in the morning nobody's on the road." Maykenzey said.
"No! Stop it!" Caitlin yelled. Maykenzey slowed to a stop.
"This is why I never let you drive." Caitlin said.
"I'll go slower." Maykenzey said. We started driving again.

I closed my eyes and leaned my head up against the door. I slowly drifted off to sleep.

"Almost there guys!" Tess yelled. I woke up again and looked out the window. The sun was just rising. We pulled onto the freeway and immediately hit traffic.
"Are you fucking kidding me?" Tess said annoyed. I giggled and looked up front. We were stuck in stop-and-go traffic. Maykenzey sighed.
"Fine, if we're gonna be stuck in traffic minus well listen to five sauce." She said. She put a DVD in and we listened to the songs that blared through the speakers.
"Turn That Off!" A guy yelled beside us. Maykenzey rolled down the window and looked at him.
"No." She said and rolled it back up. The guy slammed his head against the steering wheel in frustration. I giggled and got on my phone.

I pressed Luke's number and called him back.
"Hello." He said.
"Hi." I said.
"So what are you doing?" He asked.
"Driving to L.A to visit my friend, Zoe."
"I am actually about to get on a flight to L.A." Luke said.
"What?"
"Yep." He said popping the p.
"No way!" I said excitedly. He giggled.
"Yeah." He said. I smiled widely.
"We're almost there, actually." I said.
"And I'm almost on the plane." He said. I giggled and looked out the window.
"There's my boarding call." He said.
"Oh okay. Call me when your off the plane." I said.
"I will."
"Okay... Bye." I said.
"Bye beautiful."  Luke said. I blushed deeply.
"Bye." I said softly and hung up.
"Awe. You two are so Cute!" Maykenzey said, saying cute a little louder.
"Here's the exit." Caitlin said pointing up ahead. Maykenzey switched lanes and went down the ramp.

Soon we parked in the campus parking lot. We got out and walked inside the main hall. We went through the hallway and came out into a courtyard. We walked to the left, where the girl's dormitory was. We walked down the hallways until we found Zoe's room. We knocked twice and waited till she opened the door.
"Hey guys!" She said happily. I gave her a hug and she let me inside. I looked at the posters all over the room. They ranged from bands to comic books. A girl a little shorter than me came out of the bathroom and waved.
"Hi I'm Dora." She said.
"Kiara." I introduced myself. She gave me a hug and I hugged her back. Friendly. Dora sat on a bed that had a One Direction blanket. There were One Direction, Pierce The Veil, The Fault In Our Stars, Green Day, and 5 Seconds Of Summer posters around her side of the room.
"Oh, 5 Sauce?" I asked. She nodded quickly. Should I tell her? I don't know how to tell them? They'll probably back flip out a window or something.
"So, Kiara, have a boyfriend?" Zoe asked.
"No." I said.
"But she's seeing someone." Caitlin said.
"Who?" Zoe asked.
"Luke Hemmings." I said. Their mouths dropped and Zoe giggled.
"This is another one of your jokes right?" Zoe asked. I shook my head and grabbed my phone. I chose a selfie we took at our date and showed it to them.
"Holy Mother Of Fuck!" Dora yelled. I giggled and she started jumping up and down while flapping her arms. Zoe sat silently with her hands over her mouth. I could've sworn she was dead.
"I. Need. To. Meet. Him." She said. I giggled.
"You can. In a couple hours." I said. Dora screamed and fell off her bed. Zoe smiled widely and screamed.
"So, college?" I asked trying to change the subject.
"Shut the fuck up, we don't need to talk about college. I want to know everything about you guys." Dora said. I smiled and told her everything.

"Hey Luke." I said answering the phone.
"Hey, we're at the hotel. Want to meet up?" He asked.
"Sure, I'm with two of my friends can I bring them too?" I asked.
"Yeah. I'll text you the address." Luke said.
"Okay." I said smiling.
"See you then." He said.
"See you." I said and then hung up.
"Okay, let's go." I said. Dora screamed and ran to the bathroom. She ran out with make up on and her hair curled.
"Okay, let's go." She said. I giggled and shook my head. We walked out to the parking lot and rode in Zoe's Sequoia.

We arrived at the hotel and walked inside. I knocked on their door and Luke answered.
"Hi." He said.
"Hi." I said. We stood in the doorway silently for awhile, just smiling at each other.
"Do you want to come inside?" Calum yelled from inside. Luke snapped out of his daze and let us inside.
"Thanks. I said and kissed his cheek. He put his arm around me. Dora and Zoe walked inside with wide smiles on their faces.
"Hey guys. These are our friends Dora and Zoe." Tess introduced. They got hugs from everyone. Dora looked as if she was about to best into tears and Zoe looked as if she was going to explode.
"So, wanna go out?" Luke asked.
"Sure, where?" I asked.
"I don't know. Know anything good?" Luke asked Zoe.
"Yeah, there's, um, a Panera Bread down the street." She said.
"Oo. Wanna go there?" Luke asked me. I nodded and everyone else did too.

Luke and I waited in the restaurant for everyone as they went to the bathrooms.
"So, do you want to go, again, some time?" Luke asked.
"You don't even have to ask. I'll always say yes." I said. He smiled and put his arm around my shoulders. He leaned in and kissed me. I kissed him back, passionately. He put his hands on my hips and pulled me into him. I wrapped my arms around his neck and kissed him harder. I pulled away for breath and looked at him. His lips were shiny from my lip gloss. He smacked his lips.
"Strawberry." He said. I giggled and kissed his cheek. He draped his arm across my shoulders.

Is this all we'll be? I hope not. I hope it changes. I know I'm getting my hopes up, but I hope that the next time I kiss him like that, we'll be official.
