"Grace, wake up. The boys want to meet you. They're downstairs. Oh, and I forgot to tell you that Jack and Ben won't be home for a while." Luke shakes me awake. He leaves, and I get dressed, making sure to slide on many bracelets. I walk downstairs to see three other boys in the living room.

"Hi, I'm Calum." The black haired guy says.

"I'm Michael." The dark haired guy with a blue streak in it tells me.

"I'm Ashton." The blonde one laughs.

"I'm Grace. Nice to meet you guys." I smile. We all talk for a while and I get to know the guys. Calum plays bass guitar, Michael and Luke both play guitar, and Ashton is the drummer. After a while, I started to feel pain in my wrist. I looked down to see that one of my cuts had opened again, and there was a bit of blood. I cursed under my breath, told the guys I would be right back, and ran towards the bathroom. I found some gauze under the sink, and I wrapped my wrist. I then realized that I had to cover the gauze, so I changed into a long sleeved shirt. I heard a knock at my door and I jumped.

"Yes?" I said, rolling down my sleeves.

"It's Ashton. May I come in?" He questions.

"Uh, sure. Come on in." He opened the door and sat down on my bed with me.

"Grace, I saw them." Ashton says softly.

"I don't know what you're talking about." I lie, tears welling up in my eyes.

"May I please see your wrist?" He asks.

"No." I state.

"Grace, please. I won't hurt you. I just want to see them." He says with a sad look. I place my wrist in his hand. He slowly rolls up my sleeve and removes the gauze. When he sees the damage I had done, he looks up at me with tears in his eyes. What he did next shocked me. Instead of yelling at me or leaving me, he kissed every single cut.

"You don't deserve to go through this. You're wonderful, Grace. Please; come and talk to me if you need someone. I don't want you hurting yourself. I'm here for you." He hugs me tightly. I cry into his chest.

"Grace? Are you alright? Why are you crying?" I hear Luke ask. Luckily, my sleeves had fallen back down.

"I'm okay. I just had to tell Ashton something, and it was a bit emotional." I explain, not going through all the details. The boys left shortly after that, but Ashton slipped me his number so I could text him any time I needed to.

"What do you want for lunch?" Luke asks me.

"Uh, I'm not too hungry right now." I tell him. I'm so used to living on a budget and not eating regularly that I don't feel hungry.

"Are you sure? I can make you a cheese toastie." He offers.

"No thanks. Hey, so David told me that our parents are in America, but when can I meet them?" I ask.

"They were supposed to come home today. Do you want them to come over?" I nod.

"Yes please. I need answers." I say. Luke gets his phone out and texts them. He tells me that they should be here soon. The doorbell rings ten minutes later and Luke opens the door.

"Grace?" The woman I assumed to be my mother tried to embrace me in a hug, but I stepped back quickly. I almost fell, but Luke caught me.

"Mom, she doesn't open up that quickly. She isn't used to love and affection. One step at a time." Luke tells her.

"Honey, we're so sorry. We couldn't afford to take care of four kids. We never intended to give you up, but we were forced to." My so called father apologizes.

"I had to live at an orphanage for my whole life! I was bullied, and I ran away! I was bullied even worse for that, and you say you're sorry? Do you even actually care about me?" I scream.

"Of course we do! We wouldn't have come here if we didn't! We're trying to make everything go alright, and you're not making this any easier!" Liz yells at me.

"I'm sorry I'm making your life difficult! I guess you made the right decision on giving me up!" A few angry tears run down my face, and I sprint to my room. I bury my face in my pillow and listen to Luke shouting at them.

"You can't do that! You can't scream at her upon meeting her! She has a right to be angry, and I'm pretty mad at you as well. Why didn't you tell me I had a baby sister?" Luke exclaims.

"We thought it would be easier if you kids didn't know. I'm sorry son." Andrew explains.

"Just, get out. Both of you." I hear the door slam.

"Grace, I'm going out! I'll be back in a few hours!" Luke calls out.

"Bye." I say, just loud enough for him to hear me as he walked out the door. I began to cry again. I got up and walked into the bathroom. I tore the family apart. Luke yelled at Liz and Andrew, and it was all because of me. I grabbed my razor. I was in pain, and I needed a relief. I made 8 more cuts before I remember what Ashton told me. I set the blade down and called him.

"Ash?" I say into the phone weakly. It was obvious that I had been crying.

"Grace, are you okay? What's wrong?" He asks, sounding panicked.

"No. Please come over." I sniffle.

"I'll be right over." He hangs up and I go to wash my wrist. The water stung, but I needed to clean it.
