Chapter 3

Rick's POV

For Gods sake, what is Carmen's problem! I didn't understand why she couldn't just try talking to Sky.

"You know Carmen, maybe you're right." I said.

"Right about what?" She asked.

"Maybe you're right that we aren't your friends." I said angrily. "At least We won't be if you're gonna be like this to Sky."

"Rick you can't be serious, we've been friends for years. Sky left you and Tyler when you guys were at Burnywood! She got fostered and just left you two behind, I bet she didn't even keep in contact, did she." Carmen shouted. I felt anger inside me.

"You don't know anything about what happened when she got fostered Carmen!" I yelled.

"Exactly! Carmen, Rick was the reason I accepted the foster family! He didn't want me to suffer at Burnywood any longer than I did! I wanted to stay at Burnywood!" Sky said, she basically yelled it.

"Wait what..." Carmen was speechless. I still remember the day when Sky told me about people wanting to foster her, she wasn't going to get fostered because she wanted to stay with me and Tyler but I finally persuaded her to get fostered. It hurt having to see her go but it was only because we cared for her, we didn't want her to go through anymore hell at Burnywood, I didn't want her to go through anymore hell at Burnywood. I cared for her more than anyone else I knew - well maybe only a tad more than Tyler. We kept in contact for a short while after she left but then her foster family said that they didn't want her to have anything more to do with me, it broke my heart but I thought if it was what they wanted it would be what was best for her.

"Really Rick?" Jody asked me, referring to what Sky said.

"Yeah really." I said. "She was important to me, I couldn't stand her to turn down a foster family for me and Tyler."

"Awh, that's really sweet Rick." Tee smiled.

"Well he is a really sweet guy." Sky said as she came to stand beside me.

"You two do know you would make a cute couple." Faith said as she watched from the door, I had noticed she had came in pretty much at the start of the argument. Sky blushed and I just laughed. Carmen then stormed out of the room.

"Hey Faith." Jody and Tee said.

"Hey." Faith smiled. "I'm being serious Rick."

"Really now Faith." I said. Sure Sky may have had cute brown eyes, beautiful blonde-y brown hair, an almost identical personality to me which was pretty much amazing to have in a girl... 'Oh no.' I thought. 'I'm starting to crush on my best friend'

"Oh yeah, I'm Faith if you didn't already realise." Faith smiled at Sky,

"I'm Sky, but I'm guessing you knew that." Sky smiled back at Faith. Sky was still blushing slightly.

"Uh, I'll be back in a sec. I need to speak to Faith." I said. I was hoping I sounded natural.

I practically dragged Faith upstairs.

"Whoa what's wrong?" Faith asked me.

"I need to talk to you, about something serious." I said.

"Come on, let's talk in my room." Faith suggested. I nodded my head and followed her to her room. We walked into her room and she made sure to shut her door before sitting next to me on her bed. "Now what is it Rick?"

"Man, I feel really awkward coming to you with this but you're like the only person who will treat it seriously," I said.

"What about Sky, pretty sure she would take it seriously." Faith smirked.

"It's about her." I said emotionless. I took a deep breath and continued. "I think I'm... uh."

"Spit it out Rick." Faith ordered. I gulped.

"I think I'm crushing on Sky..." I said awkwardly. "Can you help me, I really don't know what to do."

"I knew it!" Faith exclaimed.

"Faith, serious talk!" I said. "I don't know if I should tell her or not. I mean we've known each other for years and I really don't want to ruin our friendship."

"Hmm... leave it with me, I'll think of something." Faith said.

"Thanks Faith." I said gratefully.

"Come on, let's go back downstairs." She said opening her door.

Skyler's POV

"I have an idea." Tee said.

"What?" I asked.

"Why don't we have a questioning session later, we just ask each other a bunch of questions so Skyler can get to know us and we get to know her." Tee suggested.

"I guess we could." Jody said. I kind of liked the idea, it meant that I would get to know the others really quickly.

"Yeah, we should do it later tonight. Maybe we will be able to talk sense into Carmen by then." Kazima said.

"Why not. How about eight." I added.

"Sure, we can maybe see if Lily wants to come round and stay." Tee smiled.

"Lily's a kid who used to stay here but she moved back in with her dad." Tyler clarified.

"Mike!" Tee yelled.

"Yeah?" Mike yelled back.

"Can we ask Lily to come round tonight?" Tee asked.

"I guess so, only if her dad is alright with it." Mike replied. Tee took out her phone and started texting Lily.

"What's going on?" Faith asked as her and Rick re-entered the room.

"We're planning on having a questioning session thing later on tonight at eight so Sky can get to know us and we can get to know her." Jody answered.

"Seems cool." Rick said.

"Lily said she'll come round in about twenty minutes." Tee clarified.

"Alright then, let's get set up." Johnny said. This was gonna be pretty interesting.
