Chapter 7 - Mission.
"Remel? "I was still confused - wasn't that a perfume brand?
"Yes, Remel."
"But... Remel?"
"Yes Mara, Remel!" A tall, fair woman towered in front of me. She had shoulder-length blonde hair which she had left dangling gently above her back - like a stream of gold. Her eyes were a mixture of colours - and reminded me of larkspur flowers in full bloom. Honestly, she was a miracle worker for our year and I was surprised one of the male teachers hadn't done a double take when she first came into our school - and was still a MISS Cassidy. I held back a giggle in my head. Aww... She would have suit so well with Mr -
"- Mara! Are you day dreaming?" Miss Cassidy asked, completely shattering my plans for her . I was taken aback and felt a bit guilty as I realised I was trying to imagine her with one of the old teachers...
"Umm... Yeah, I'd love to show the new girl -I mean Remel - around school" I smiled.
I stared at her. It wasn't fair, why did I always have to be the one to show random new students around? Okay, who was I kidding, I LOVED to meet new people. Well, hope this girl's nice. She seems nice - well, what I've heard of her.
"Okay, well, I've got to run now - staff meeting - thanks for the favour!" She chirped.
"No probs" I was too nice.
I quickly stepped over to the reception to see a stunning girl literally dressed to impress - in the pathetic school uniform we had - but personalised. She had auburn hair rushing down her shoulders and big, eye lined green eyes that reminded me of a cat in the dark. She was stunning - to say the very least.
I glanced at the glass display on the side wall and began to compare myself to her. Wow, I looked a mess. I slowly trudged my reluctant feet to her and (resisting the urge to rush to Brent Cross - asking for the best make-up they had), began to speak:
"Hi, I'm Mara and I'm going to show you to your class- which I won't be with you in - for now because we don't have EXACT same time-tables - I think you chose to do music and not science?" She had a warm glow in her eyes. I beamed at her - I think she wouldn't be so bad.
"Oh, hello, I'm Remel - new here. Oh, umm - my timetable - no I didn't get into music - they say they have an overloaded class so yeah - big bummer I guess - But oh well. I'm doing science instead."
My smiled dropped.
Did she just say she was doing science?
In the same class as me? With Sir A... I shook my head - so what? Who cares about a stupid, pretty young girl who looks like a perfume model? Does it really affect my life in anyway?
Shall I really answer that?
"Uh-huh-huh umm well, we should umm, be umm, going to class now shouldn't we?"
She seemed a bit worried at my sudden change in behaviour - I could clearly tell from her expression. I wonder if she thought I was even sane...
"Why are you blushing and stuttering? - I thought this was a girls-only school" She was staring at the tomatoes on my face - also known as my cheeks - which were on fire.
What impression have I given her? I thought in horror.
"No no, it's just that well umm - we have biology, I think we should go or we'll be late..." I mumbled, trying to fix the mess I had made of myself. She was picking up on this too fast. Wait! Picking up on what? Nothing was going on!
She looked like a detective investigating a murder case - scrutinising me like there's no tomorrow with that look that said YOU'RE A CRIMINAL! I gave her a cheesy smile and beckoned to her. 66 stairs... I didn't know I was this obvious. Watch when she exposes me to the world. The world seemed too big for me and I felt tired and thirsty all of sudden. I took out my bottle - savouring the tastelessness of water. Mmmm... Replenishing.
"So, what's our biology teacher like? Do you guys like him?"
PHSHH!!! I coughed violently, choking on the sudden question she had sprung.
Shit!
Water had managed to spray out of my mouth onto the stairs - thank goodness no-one was in front. I must have looked like a whale - shooting out water. Remel was gawking at me, wide-eyed with shock.
"Why would people possibly LIKE him? He's a teacher?" I chuckled nervously trying to get the water off my bright purple blazer.
She grinned at me. "I didn't mean LIKE-like I just generally meant does he lecture and bore you to death - but since you brought it up, you don't happen to be crushing on him by any chance are you? - you have all the symptoms of love... Awww" She cradled her cheek in her hand and looked sympathetically towards me.
Was she mocking me?
I glared at her. I really don't think I liked her - she seemed evil now that I knew her.
As we walked into our biology class I tried to observe her every move and reaction towards the teacher. She had seen his back at first, and walked along uninterested. Then she glimpsed at him - at his face, and her eyes had nearly popped out of their sockets, and then she had smiled. An ugly, evil smile - I didn't have a good feeling about this. What was she doing now?
"Sir, what made a guy like YOU come to this school?" She yelled out, her body thrown forward in his direction.
Sir turned from the book he was reading to face her. Please don't check her out!
He chuckled at her. "What made a lady like YOU come to this school?" He replied flirtatiously.
I think I'm having heart failure.
I could hear Remel giggling and chatting in the background. This was a tragic moment for me - she was flirting with him! I needed my two best friends, they'd help me out - but where were they? Didn't they come to lesson?
I scanned through all the students in the class and saw them - supposedly the two of the three musketeers, standing right at the front and just gaping at Sir Andrew with that dreamy haze on their face.
They looked like two flies stuck to a drizzling chocolate cake.
"Oh I'm sorry to hear that" I could hear Sir Andrew's voice amidst the shouts and ear-drum-shattering yells of the girls in our class. He was talking to them.
"Yeah. yes, if you can't see that well Faye its fine with me, and Ashley if your head hurts and you don't want to sit near that noisy table, then yeah you can sit in the front. Of course, no it's not a bother... "
I think I seriously needed to clean my ears and wash my eyeballs. Did Ashley and Faye just ask to sit at the front for two obviously FAKE reasons - Faye could see things I couldn't from miles away, and Ashley was now jumping and laughing normally. Then why did they...? No.
A thought struck my head like lightening.
I KNEW WHAT MY NEXT MISSION WAS BEFORE I DONE ANYTHING IN LIFE:
EXTERMINATE ASHLEY, FAYE AND NEW GIRL.
