It's been 85 years (cue Titanic music). No, I'm currently not writing anything (cough cough I am but not for the app)but this chapter randomly spawned in my mind like a few months ago and I finally decided to give it to you guys.
So here you go. It's in Tawfiq's POV and it's just a short scene.***
"I still can't believe you got married." Dean shook his head as we watched the car Naima and her friends were in drive away.
I exhaled in slight frustration. Why couldn't she just straight up go with me back to my place? We had been apart too long."I still can't believe you actually got a stable girlfriend." I raised a brow looking at Isabella or well Bella from the corner of my eye standing some feet from us.
I thought he'd die single at one point.
"I know! We are maturing so fast." He chuckled.
"You matured the second you ran away." I bit back. Yes, it was still a sour subject to me. He could have died. What would I have done then after letting him go without dragging him back just because I wanted to give him the benefit of the doubt. I'd never forgive myself. He put an arm around my shoulder. "T, I said I was sorry." He pouted sadly and I frowned. "No. You said 'Im Sry. T.'" I tried to say it how he had sent the message. I remembered the message clearly. "Couldn't even spell it right."
"Well the longer I stayed writing to you, the more chances of you finding me." He removed his arms from around my shoulder.
"And that's such a crime, isn't it. Such a huge crime that I'd go find my best friend. My brother." I rolled my eyes.
"You know I had to do it." He turned serious.
I did. I even understood why he wanted to do it on his own. It didn't mean I accepted it.
"Yes. But. You didn't have to do it alone. I could have helped. You should have made me help."
He rubbed his face. "I know. I needed you here. To be safe. To protect mom so they'd not do the same thing to her." He said quietly.
"I was in Boston. I was hours away from Harriet." My voice rose a bit higher than normal.
"Oh please. Save the act. Mom told me there were people always around the house, always around her, watching but never approaching." We were both staring each other down now.
I bit the inside of my cheeks. How did Harriet find out? Well, she grew up in the mafia. Previous Heir apparent. She probably was used to having security around her. And she had never said anything or done anything to prove she could hurt a fly but she could probably hold her ground on a one to one fight.
"You called Harriet?"
She never told me Dean got in touch with her.
"She left a lengthy letter with Layla in case she ever got in touch with me." He explained. "Layla gave it to Bella before we left Italy."
I exhaled through my mouth. I didn't want to get all riled up. It was my wedding day. I had to go back to my place and change to go get Naima later. But I still had one thing left to do.
"I see. Well, I am glad you're back now. But if you ever think of doing pulling some shit stunt like that again I'll cut off your legs myself. I don't care how strong you've gotten."
