3rd Revenge

Song of the Chapter - Gotta Be Somebody by Nickelback

~~~~~~~~~~
Juliette POV
Stopping near the sea, I rested my now tired body on the nice seashore. Not caring if sand would get in my hair or anything else, I shifted from wolf to human, letting my muscles relax on the cool sand. I didn't even bother dressing up cause I know no one goes to these parts except me and being butt-naked is the best way to enjoy a moment. This is my secret safe haven after all.
[that was a nice run.] I heaved, my chest panting up and down from exhaustion.
[it sure was.] Ivory, my wolf, replied. It had been ages since I last let her loose and this was the perfect time to do so. She hasn't really been free ever since my 6th birthday, and that was the first time I shifted. Shifting is a luxury for wolves and being a failure, I was denied this luxury often but they never banned me from it, just to a minimal extent.
The wet sand felt nice on my skin, considering I was still naked, and like the little kid I was, I rolled on it like there was no tomorrow.
[seriously Julie, you're more animal-like than me.] Ivory snorted but I sensed a hint of humor to her words. I rolled my eyes, ignored her comment, and went back to rolling.
[sorry Ry but what I want to do, I do.] She was going to give me an hour long lecture but I managed to drown her out. She's such a nagger sometimes that she even beats my mom ... not that she talks to me like that ... She never has the time of day to speak with trash.
"Mommy, daddy, let's go over there!" A little girl was running towards me, well not exactly me but near me. I heard heavy footsteps following her, about two people and they were a lot older than that young girl.
Panicking, I rushed towards the run-down shed nearby where I hide extra clothes. I found my dad's old trench coat that barely reached my knees, he was 10 when he owned this, and took a peak through the dusty window of the shed. I should think about stocking a few cleaning materials here, and underwear.
[what are they doing here Ry?] I asked.
The little girl was running towards the crashing waves and a couple was following behind her. The lady was a young, 27 or something, brunette while she was accompanied by , 30 at the very least, guy with black hair.
[don't ask me. I don't know what humans do] Ahh, so they were human, that makes sense. No wolf would come to these parts, they like to stay in wooded areas as much as possible. With the exception of a failure named Juliette of course.
[stop with the failure comments will you? It sickens me that you think about yourself like that.] I averted my focus from the family in front of me and directed it towards my lovely wolf.
[i don't think about myself like that. It's a universal fact that I am below everything the world has.] I told her in a very sure tone. No matter how harsh and demeaning that sounds, it was true.
After not amounting to anything as grand as your siblings, you'll come to believe it. As my grandfather always said, "If you were born to fail, you'll always be like that. No amount of hardwork or luck can change your uselessness."
Harsh but wise. One of the reasons we never went against him, not even the slightest bit. My grandfather was a strict evil demented dictator. Okay, not so much demented but he was power-hungry and that was something.
I focused on the humans again and they were chatting and laughing. The little girl was running and slipping on the shore, while the couple was looking lovingly towards her.
