They were about to ask for help from Alice's family. Maybe they could convince someone of what they'd learned. But apparently magic had other plans. Because all the sudden Alice's backyard was gone an they were standing in the middle of a corn field.
"Wh-where'd it all go?"
"Obviously this is one of the places dragged over. The question is, what happened to where we just were, and why didn't we go with it?"
"Maybe where we just were was moved away. And I think maybe the paradox runs a little deeper with us because we met ourselves, so maybe we won't be affected when places move."
Light talk continued a they picked a direction and tried to get out of the field. Until Kay in the lead suddenly stopped. They had run across a path in the corn.
Kay shrugged, then turned left and began walking. The others followed.
