Ch 27: Liam

I f*cked up. That’s all there is to it. I f*cked up; bad. I could have just not told her, but no, what do I do, I completely f*ck up. I fell into bed, pulling my hair. I really hope this doesn’t screw up what we have going on at the moment. I grabbed my phone to call Owen and tell him about what had happened.

                “Hello?”

“Hey it’s Liam. Dude, I messed up,” I said, already spilling it out.

“You think you f*cked up?” I cut him off before he could continue.

“I asked Airi to come meet my parents during Thanksgiving and she fled. She fled. How worse can it get?”

“I got….I got Eli pregnant.” Silence consumed the next few seconds till I was able to actually swallow what he said.

                “You knocked her up?

“Yeah.” He was calm yet I could hint the panic in his voice.

                “Is she alright?”

“I don’t know.” Not very assuring of a statement if you ask me.

“What did you do when she told you? Run away?” I asked sarcastically, feeling awful for Eliyza.

“I DIDN’T KNOW WHAT ELSE TO DO! I WAS FREAKING OUT GODDAMNIT!” Wow, he actually ran away. Where else have I seen that from the Marcheski family household? I disregarded Airi’s thoughtless actions and attempted to explain the fault in what Owen had done.

“Owen, chill. If you’re not calm and there for Eliyza, who will be? She’s the one carrying the baby; you’re just the person who contributed. Sorry to be harsh but you need to man up and talk to her about the situation.” I tried my best, advising the reasonable.

                “I don’t know….”

“What do you got to lose?” I asked, hoping this would trigger his brain for some heroic actions.

“I could very easily lose her.”

“That gives you a chance to prove how much you love her even though she’s pregnant.”

“You’re so right. I need to take it easy and see how she’s doing.” I instantly caught the slight shift of mood in his tone.

“I’m glad you see it in her perspective. Actually, Airi’s there too. Mind if I join you on your trip there?” I just as well needed to talk to her about our plans.

                “No, not at all.”

“Alright I’ll see you in a few.” I disconnected the phone and grabbed my keys to head their apartment.

When I knocked, Airi opened the door. She didn’t give me a ‘hi’ but walked to the kitchen expecting me to follow her. I did.
