Mirta blinked; her mind just didn't get it. Sure, she had avoided his stun blast, but he avoided being hit by her's as well. She just couldn't believe it at all. Mirta replayed it in her head trying to figure it out. They both shot when they screamed and she sidestepped to the right side to avoid the blast. Then when she looked up, expecting to see him on the ground, Ghes was standing there perfectly fine.
"How in the Sith hells did you dodge that!?" Mirta yelled at him and the boy smiled.
"I just squatted down so it went strait over my head," he yelled back, his pride evident in each word,"how did you?"
"I sidestepped it," she yelled back, now walking toward him,"and you do realize that in an actual blaster fight, squatting down like that would get you killed right?" He blush a little bit and nodded.
"We were both only gonna shot once though so it worked out fine," Ghes said simply as now they were only a few feet away from one another,"so what are we gonna do now?"
Mirta blinked; she had no clue how they were gonna decide this now. She could just kill him, but Boba told her not to attract attention. Also, he was rather funny and she almost never got to hang out with someone her age.
"Ghes!" A male voice called in the distance causing Ghes to groan. "Where are you?!" the voice called out again,"your late of training again!" Mirta smirked as the boy winced and a look of panic soon crossed it. Then, a light went on in his head and he put a finger on his lips that pleaded her to stay quiet. She gave him an annoyed look, but nodded none the less. Mirta knew exactly how it felt to want to skip a day of training.
Ghes mouthed a thank you before grabbing her hand and leading her threw the trees. The voice faded behind them as they slipped quietly threw the trees. Mirta smiled; she had to admit this boy knew how to be stealthy. Finally, they stopped in front of a few bushes and the boy turned back to her.
"My speeder bike is behind the bushes," Ghes whispered happily as he parted them. And there was the speeder bike only there was another and someone was there. A man in his mid thirties with black skin and dreadlocks. He wore camouflage cloths as well and had even more weapons than Mirta and Ghes.
"Your getting better Ghes," the man started looking directly at the boy,"but your still not good enough to shake me off your trail." Ghes glared, but the shocked expression was still clear on his his face.
"You are?" The man said now looking at Mirta. She gave her usual smirk before answering.
"I'm Mirta Gev," she said extending her hand to the man who shook it. The man looked glad, but still eyed her curiously.
"It's nice to meet a kid with some manners," he said before turning to the boy, "this one wouldn't know what respect was if he was slapped in the face with it." Ghes clenched his teeth at that causing Mirta to snicker.
"Might I ask why your hanging out with him?" The man asked; his face becoming a bit more sober and serious. She gulped a little; the man was quite intimidating.
"My grandfather dropped me off at my old home for a few days. When I got there, Ghes was there saying it was his. And I was trying to get him to admit that it was mine," Mirta said innocently and Ghes felt his jaw drop. She made everything they did earlier sound so innocent as if it were a thing normal kids would do!
'Force,' he thought for a moment,'this girl knows how to say the right thing.' The man snickered seeing the boy's face before turning back to Mirta.
"How about I make it up to you by getting you some dinner in Keldabe," he said simply. Now it was Mirta's turn to look completely and utterly stunned. Keldabe was the capital of Mandalore. It was the "Big City;" the place every Mandalorian wanted to visit at least once. When she lived on this planet, her mother had never taken her even though it was less than an hour away. It had been a childhood dream of her's to go!
"Yes!" Mirta screamed out happily, but blushed a little afterwords,"I mean yes." Ghes burst out laughing and Mirta hit him up side the head which caused the man to laugh.
"Well if anything," he said as he walked to his bike,"you both will keep me amused." He hopped on his and motioned for the two of them to get on the other bike. If anything, that is when things got uncomfortable for the two kids. Ghes hopped on first and then Mirta behind, so she had to put her arms around him and lean against his back. It just made them both fell very awkward.
"By the way," the man began again catching Mirta's attention,"I'm Novoc Vevut, Ghes's guardian and trainer. I'm a weapons smith and have my own shop in Keldabe. So who's training you little one?"
Mirta smiled slightly; she supposed it was true that Mandalorians could see threw each other. I mean to a normal person a child with weapons could mean something far more innocent, but to a Mandalorian being trained to be a soldier or a bounty hunter was the first things that came to mind. 'Our brains are just wired differently from the rest of the galaxy,' Mirta thought.
"My grandfather is," she said simply as both speeder bikes started. Novoc gave her a slight smile as he moved his speeder bike so it was right beside their's.
"Well I can't wait to see how good you are against Ghes," Novoc said as Ghes groaned,"now Ghes did you really think because you now have a girlfriend that you would get out of training?" Both children's eyes went wide and they looked at each other silently before turning back to the adult. Before either could get a word out, Novoc had already driven off.
"We are never gonna be like that agreed?" Mirta said as Ghes began to take off after the man.
"Agreed," Ghes said, but as they sped off something in the pit of both of there stomachs said other wise.
