The Crew goes on a Vacation!

Chapter 11

Jacin sat up, and hugged Winter, at first she panicked but then realized it was a hug. He pulled away, his cheeks and ears turning red, in a flash Winter's lips met Jacin's, she wrapped her arms around his neck and he fell back against the couch. They stayed in that position for no more that 6 heart beats. She then pulled away, and laughed, he gave her a look like she wasn't supposed to kiss him. She didn't think that it mattered, everyone in the castle knew about them. Winter pulled off, and sat in her chair that she'd pulled by the couch earlier. Jacin opened his mouth to explain, but Winter shushed him with her finger. "Can it wait until the morning? It's almost one am" Jacin nodded. Winter went upstairs, and slipped into her bed. She heard Jacin coming upstairs, but didn't hear anything else as sleep immediately took over her.

Scarlet woke up to a knock on the door, Cinder was standing at the door "We're making breakfast and we wanted to know if you'd like to join, have Jacin explain and stuff"
"Yah. We'll all be over in about 5 or 10 minutes"
Cinder nodded and went next door.
Scarlet went upstairs, Wolf was sitting in bed watching the net screen, Scarlet changed her too small hole covered shirt and put on another shirt Wolf whistled at her and she stuck her tongue out at him. She slipped on light sweatshirt and went across a hall to Winter and Jacin's room. She knocked and Jacin answered the door, he looked like good old Jacin "what do you want" he grumbled. "Cinder invited us over for breakfast, she wanted you to explain what happened." Jacin nodded, he began to shut the door but Scarlet interrupted "good to have you back" Scarlet winked and Jacin nodded.

Scarlet decided to just walk in without knocking. She heard sizzling and a smell that reminded her of the farm, Scarlet saw Thorne standing near the stove flipping some bacon. Kai was sitting in the couch watching the netscreen while Cress was sitting at a table on her lapscreen, the chip was connected to the lap screen, coding and words were printed across her screen.
"Heeeey" Scarlet announced. Scarlet, Wolf, Winter, and Jacin filed into the room, Scarlet set the fruit she brought on the kitchen counter. The kitchen was small, and the counters were already covered with bowls and plates. Scarlet immediately jumped in to help Thorne. Two alarms were going off, "Scarling" Scarlet hated when Thorne called her that "can you take the waffle out of the waffle maker and make another one. Thanks"
Scarlet took a fork and a plate that already had a waffle on it and scooped the waffle out of the waffle maker and plopped it on the plate. The oven was beeping and Thorne pulled out a batch of biscuits. Scarlet went over to where Thorne was standing and scrambled the eggs he put on. Thorne set the biscuits by the sink, and flipped a pancake. "Where in the stars is Cinder?" Scarlet asked "Went to get Iko"
She continued to scramble the eggs until the waffle maker went off again. She put in more batter, and returned to standing next to Thorne. "Wolf? Can you clean these counters then cut the fruit?" Wolf began to set bowls and silver ware that were already used in the sink and washed them off then set them into the dishwasher. He got out the cutting board then cut the cantaloupe and watermelon. Thorne got out another pack of bacon and began cooking that pack.
Scarlet heard the door open, she saw Cinder and Iko coming in, Iko holding a pack of English muffins and bagels, Cinder was carrying some sour cream. Iko was wearing denim ripped shorts with a tank top and a knit see threw light sweater. Wolf reached over Scarlet to grab a plate from the cabinet above her, then got a toaster for Iko' bagels and English muffins.

Scarlet set the last plate down on the small table. For only two people making a breakfast for 8 people and a wolf-hybrid-that-really-did-count-as-two-people-when-it-came-to-eating the breakfast looked really good. Nothing was burnt and nothing set flame like the last crew breakfast.
The crew helped themselves, Scarlet sat on the floor next to Iko, they gossiped about the biggest trending stars and celebrities and how Iko was slowly rising to fame. Scarlet honestly had no interest in celebrities, she wanted to talk about the newest gun that came out, she wanted it so badly and she was hoping Wolf would get it for her for her birthday. She wanted to talk about her dream of starting a small business where she would fix up old cars and sell them. It wouldn't make a living since roads weren't really used much and nobody drove cars anymore. But it would be fun and she would have a little extra money on hand.
She went to get another English muffin when Cress tried to announce something. Everyone quieted down and listened to her. Cress looked at her screen "I um I've figured out who made that chip, his name was Bade Ari, I don't know much about him but the chip seems to originate from Lunar technology. I'll have to do more research on him but we are close to finding him." Cress looked at Cinder.
"Thank you so much Cress" Cinder smiled at her.
Winter ran over to Cress and gave her a big hug.
They were close to finding the man who had wanted to hurt the crew, to finding his motivation.

"Cinder, I'm gonna need you to log into the Lunar government and give me the information to the identities of the Lunars."
Cinder hesitated but nodded.
Cress got her to the page to sign in, Cinder typed in everything, and watched Cress type in everything to find this Bade and track him down.
Scarlet heard someone knock on the door, Wolf went to answer it. "Is Iko Lihn here?"
Wolf called for Iko and she went up to the door "ALIKA!" She exclaimed and hugged him. "I was wondering if you'd like to come to lunch with me? At say, 1?"
"In 2 hours? Sure!"
"Great. I'll pick you up?"
Iko nodded "thank you. Can't wait!" She closed to door and ran to Cinder and squealed. "How did he know where you were?" She had a bewildered face "He's supposed to be dead" she whispered. "What do you mean he supposed to be dead?!" There she goes again, not thinking before she says! "
"My central scanner detected that he's Bade Ari is deceased, yet there he was." Cinder's brows furrowed, "he's an imposter"
"Alika?! No way." Iko looked upset.
"Yes way. He's using his glamour, and must've come to earth and taken on a false identity AND he made the chip that controlled Jacin!" Cinder looked lost, must be researching him, Scarlet thought.
"Iko you can't go on that date" Thorne said with a mouth full of biscuit.
"But-but he seemed so sweet!" Iko whined.
"What if" everyone quieted down and looked at Wolf "what if he give Iko a gun and let her go on the date" Cinder opened her mouth to argue but Wolf went on "What if we ambush him at the restaurant"
"What if something went wrong, I mean, Iko could get killed." Cinder didn't look happy. "Worse comes to worse. We get Iko a new body." Everyone seemed to nod but Iko was staring at Wolf, in complete shock. "But I-I thought that- he- how?" Iko looked like she was about to cry, but she didn't have tear ducts. "He's probably using you to get to Selene" Scarlet saw Cinder cringe at the name "he probably lived in Artemesia and as to happy when you became queen, so he's probably trying to hurt Cinder. He was probably trying to control Jacin and make him kill one of us to get to you." Scarlet remembered her cuts. The thought made her cuts ache. Wolf had helped her clean bandage them.
"Iko. It could only work if you help us." Scarlet was surprised to hear Cress speaking.
Iko nodded.
