The city of Baisa laid on the edge of the Sunleth Waterscape. It was a quiet place compared to other cities like Nautilus yet it was still full of life. Scientists in the city were charged with researching the various monsters that lived in the Waterscape. Autumn was one of these scientists. After graduating college the first place Autumn went to was the Sunleth Research Facility. It was there that she was heading to on the morning that she was supposed to be moving.

In the outskirts of Baisa, Autumn's twin sat waiting for her to appear. Turning his head at the sound of footsteps he sighed. The figure was not the petite one of his sister but rather the tall stocky one of his father. It was funny how each twin had inherited different genetics from their parents. While his sister had their mother's petite figure, he had their father's large one and while she had gained their mother's pale pink hair he had gained their father's blonde straw-like hair. Yet they had some similarities to. They both had their mother's blue eyes and their father's pointed chin.

"Hey Kiddo" His father greeted him "Are you ready for the move?"

"Yeah if Autumn ever appears" Ashton said scanning the stairs for the fourth time in the half an hour that he had been sat there.

His father frowned "Did she not tell you? She had a message from the Facility about an hour ago or so, she had to rush off. Something about an escaped Flan or maybe it was a mutant one... I can't quite remember but either way she said she'll be back as soon as she can."

"Oh!" That was another thing about his twin, she rarely told him anything even if it involved him. It annoyed him deeply but he had to admit even he had faults. "Guess we better start this move without her."

Nodding his father picked up one of the many boxes piled by the door. It took them several hours but eventually all the furniture had been loaded onto the back of a van. Ashton delayed his goodbyes for as long as he could but he had to leave eventually. When it looked like Autumn was not going to return for a while Ashton got into the drivers seat and drove off alone down the road.

A few blocks away from the twins new home a 19 year old girl returned home after a long day at college. Taking her shoes off at the front door she sighed into the emptiness. As an only child Felicity had no siblings to take care of, her was mother away working two jobs to make ends meet, and her father had disappeared when she was 5, leaving her the house to herself. This gave her the time to do her favourite thing.

Stepping softly through the hallway she passed a mirror where she stopped to adjust her earrings. Her shoulder length brown hair shaped her plain face. The only thing that was unusual about her was her large, bright lilac eyes. It was this that kept people away. They took one look at her eyes and instantly thought 'freak'. She would hear them muttering as they passed her, sometimes people crossed the street just to avoid her. Not that she cared... well deep down it did hurt a bit but she didn't let it show. She just turned to books instead. Books didn't judge her, they didn't gossip or spread lies. Instead they welcomed her in and let her be whomever she wanted.

Continuing on to her bedroom she wanted nothing more than to sink into a magical world and fight a villain. Felicity chose a large leather-bound novel from her collection before falling into the comfy armchair that her grandfather had given to her after his death.

It was there that her mother found her later that night, fast asleep with book on her knee. "Oh! Felicity!" Her mother whispered when she saw her daughter. She picked up the book and thumbed through it "While you make some terrible decisions girl, like falling asleep no doubt without eating any dinner, you have a good taste in books. You get that from your Grandfather." Sighing she placed the book back on its shelf and covered Felicity with a blanket before tiptoeing out the door. Just before the door had fully closed Felicity stirred slightly, changed position and fell back to sleep. "Goodnight sweet child." Her mother said as she pulled the door closed.
