The wildlife of the Waterscape usually consisted of various forms of Flan, a mix of Hedge and Mud Frogs and other ferocious creatures. The creature on the screen was neither Flan or Frog. It prowled on four long legs baring it's sharp teeth at a terrified Mud Frog that had wandered into the clearing. The Megistotherian was far from it's natural home on Gran Pulse. The arrival of such a strange creature had the scientists in the lab arguing with each other.
"It wandered into the Waterscape in search of food." One suggested.
"From pulse?" Another argued "How did it get here from Pulse?"
"Maybe it came on some sort of Pulse flying machine which crashed into the Waterscape?" A young intern waved his arms about enthusiastically. Autumn took the opportunity to slip out of the room. If none of her foolish colleagues were going to figure out where the beast came from then she was going to have to do it alone. Pulling her lab coat tighter around herself she stepped out into the Waterscape.
On days like this, when winter was coming and there was a frost forming, the Waterscape looked beautiful. The sun shone on the ice crystals making the whole place sparkle. Autumn quickly crossed the icy ground. She knew for sure that her colleagues would not miss her in their debate and would only realise that she was missing when she came up on their screen.
As she neared the Megistotherian's position her foot slipped causing her to fall. As she fell she furiously attempted to grab onto any branches that she could. Scrambling to her feet Autumn noticed that she had caught the monster's attention. She swore to herself. So much for the element of surprise.
The Megistotherian let out a deep snarl and lunged for her. The force of it pushed Autumn back to the ground. Fear paralysed her and froze the scream in her throat. As the beast circled around her she found herself thinking of her brother and her new home she was going to share with him. When the beast moved closer something in her mind told her to run. She rushed to her feet and ran through the Waterscape.
The beast was faster than she was and when she thought she faced certain death she saw it. 6 feet high and just as wide the swirling blue portal stood hidden by trees. Diving behind the massive portal and squeezing her eyes shut she hoped for the best. When she heard no more growls she dared to open her eyes. The beast had gone but the portal was still there. As she stood there in shock her colleagues came sprinting through the trees. It was then that she fainted.

It was nearly dark when Autumn arrived at her new home. It was there that she found her twin sat in the middle of the floor, mobile next to him and his head in his hands. As she walked into the room Ashton looked up at her, it wasn't hard to tell he had been crying. "Where were you?" He demanded.
"I had an emergency at work I should have told you."
"Yeah, you should have!" Ashton shouted at her "Don't you know how worried I have been?"
Autumn sat next to him "Look I'm sorry Ash, I know I should have been here..."
"You think?!" Ashton refused to look at her instead he chose to stare intently at a patch of wall.
"Let me finish. There was a weird monster thing, bigger than I have ever seen. They say it came from Pulse or something. And I found a portal. I think.... I think something bad is going to happen Ash. Something real bad that us scientists can't fix." Tears began to slide down Autumn's cheeks as great sobs escaped her mouth. "I... don't know... what to do..."
Ashton began to panic, he had never seen his sister cry. Not when he had broke her favorite toy nor when he cut too much of her hair off when she dared him to cut a little bit of. She had never cried. Now that she was crying in front of him, he did not know what to do. He gingerly patted her back. "There, there Autumn don't cry. It'll be alright."
Autumn pushed him away "It won't be okay! I just know it Ash!"
"How about we forget all about scary monsters for one night and have a movie night in? I've set up the TV and we can order some food."
Autumn nodded "Only if we can watch my favourite movie though."
Ashton smiled "It's already in the movie player."
"You're the best brother ever!" She exclaimed.
"I know." He replied and for the first time in ages they both laughed.
