"Lukey, hey. It's okay. Calm down, you're safe. I'll take care of you." I said, swinging the bag over my shoulder, hugging him with both of my arms. He clung onto my body, my heart breaking. I let my tears fall as I held him, still walking.

"I love you, baby. Love you." I whispered, kissing his head multiple times. When I finally got to the gate, I pressed in the code Victoria gave me, in case something ever happened. Walking up to the front door, I started shaking. What if they don't let us in? Where would I have to go?
I shook away my thoughts, ringing the doorbell.

Seconds later the door opened, Brooklyn immediately noticing my tears and the sobbing boy in my arms.

"Oh god, come in." He spoke, wrapping his arms around both me and Lucas as soon as I stepped into the house.

"Letty, what happened?" He asked after pulling back and giving me a kiss on my forehead.

Trying to come up with a decent sentence, I felt my legs shaking like hell. " Can I just sit down for a second? Please." I asked, my voice breaking, desperate.

Eyes panicking, he frantically nodded and took the bag off my shoulder, placing a hand on Lucas' head. Causing him to look up at Brooklyn with big eyes.

"Hey, big guy. I'm Brooklyn. You must be Lucas." Lucas nodded in response, shyly diverting his eyes back to me.

"Are your parents home?" I asked as Brooklyn put his hand on my back and led me into the yard. The rest of the family was sat at a table, eating steak that David was preparing on the barbecue.

"Mom, Dad." Brook spoke, and everyone's eyes turned to us.

"Hey, sorry to barge in like this." I spoke in shame.

"No! That's totally fine. Who's this little guy?" David spoke, walking over to us. He kissed my cheek and lead me to the table as he saw the tears in my eyes.

"This is Lucas. My brother." Victoria also gave me a kiss and pulled out a seat for me and Lucas. Brooklyn sat down next to me and rested his arm on the back of my chair, stroking the back of my neck in an attempt to calm me down.

"Do you want to talk about it?" He asked, me nodding in response, another tear dropping down my face as a put on a smile to talk to Lucas.

"Hey, Lukey," I spoke silently, pulling him away from my shoulder. His blue eyes looked at me in hope and I smiled. "Do you want to go play for a bit? He nodded at my words, a smile appearing on his face. Brooklyn looked at his siblings, Romeo immediately getting the hint. He whispered something to Cruz, who walked to the football goal with Harper. He then walked over to me and Lucas, kissing my cheek first and then smiling at Lucas.

"I'm Romeo, do you want to come play?" His friendly smile made Lucas smile, who looked up at me like he was asking for my permission, kissed my lips and got off my lap, running along with Romeo.

"What happened, dear?" Victoria said and I sighed, all of it made me so upset and it was just tiring. Brooklyn looked at me in worry, making me sad.

So I told them everything. How my parents and I used to live in the smallest apartment, wearing the same clothes for four days and barely having enough food. "That was before they gratuated as doctors," I saw the surprise on their faces as I told them they were doctors. From having those things to being doctors, I understood their surprise.
