{ where you are - the score"Streetlights on dark nights,
I wonder where you are."
With Dahlia's money in hand, Davina made her way to the nearest bus stop. It was about a five mile walk but that wasnt the only problem.
Social services had been tipped off because Dahlia wasn't the only one who saw Davina trying to leave...Mr. Martell caught Dahlia letting Davina escape, and called SS about ten minutes later.
A lot can happen in ten minutes.
Dahlia was in the hospital.
Mr. Martell was in jail.
And Social Services was waiting for Davina at the bus stop.Out of breath, Davina finally managed to make it to the bus stop, unaware that trouble was lingering just around the corner.
She tiredly stepped up to the bus, but quickly ducked behind the taller man who was also getting on the bus after she saw a Social Services Worker. She mumbled a curse word under her breath but fortunately enough, The SS Worker didn't see her until she was finally on the bus and already on her way to California.
Later That Day.
D
avina had been on several buses, too many different stops, and one very sketchy gas station, but was finally only a few minutes away from Beacon Hills, California. Her mind was racing a hundred miles an hour-
what would her mother be like? whatever happened to her father? would they be together?
Would they want to meet her?
Or would they even want her to stay? Her mother lived in Beacon Hills for several years before she was born so that meant there was a chance she could still be there. All she knew was she had to find out the truth about where she was from, and why they did not want to keep her.
So there she was, her mind asking her millions of questions as she was finally hoping to get some answers. By the time she was finally crossing the border of Beacon Hills, she gazed out of the dusty bus window and saw the memorizing full moon.
She had felt light headed and thought she might even pass out, but it was 'just exhaustion from the trip.' she thought. Or maybe even stress, this had been a life-long battle and now she would finally face it...Right?
She fiddled around with her locket nervously, her fingers sliding the charm across the chain repeatedly as she awaited anxiously for the bus to stop.
After stepping off of the bus and onto the road, she found herself walking along a sidewalk observing the quiet town. It seemed very small and calm, quaint houses with white picket fences and other various home-y additions. She couldn't help but smile when she saw a young couple through a window, rocking their tender little baby who was all wrapped up and warm from the chilly November temperatures. She admired the way they looked at that baby, such a caring and sacrificial look on their faces. That was something sh-
Pain.
She suddenly felt dizzy, the sweat already forming on her face at an unnatural amount of time. "What the hell?" She cried into a mumble as she yelled out in pain because of the feeling that her head was about to explode. It was like daggers were being plummeted into her skull and she couldn't do anything about it. She put both hands up to her head, trying to block out the pain somehow, but she only felt even more lightheaded as it went on. Next thing she knew, she was falling to her knees and hitting the ground. The pain trembled across her body and into her back, her knees, her hands....
She could have sworn her nails were long and sharp, almost like talons...Then it all went black.
Trees.
That was the first thing she saw when she opened her eyes.
She didn't know how she got here, but she was lying in the middle of the...woods?leaves were tangled and crumbled in her long brown curls and the chilly fall breeze sent a shiver down her bare back.
wait, what? She looked around confused, folding her arms around herself to try and stay warm, but why was she naked? She was nearly on the verge of tears when her eyes flickered to a figure approaching her in the distance. She didn't know where to hide or what to do, why was someone out in the woods at this time anyways?
As the person came closer to her view, she realized it was a man.
He had a serious look on his face like he wanted to find someone and slap them until they bled to death, and that was only the first thing she noticed about him. He had jet black hair that was slightly messy, and deep brown eyes that felt almost familiar.Sooner than she expected, the man stood right above her, his serious brown eyes staring into hers. She flinched when he knelt down in front of her, suddenly remembering her bareness.
"Do you want to tell me what a lone wolf like you is doing in Beacon Hills?"
She didn't know what he meant by a lone wolf, is that some stupid metaphor for someone who has no clue what haopened to them? Who even was this guy and why had she blacked out?
He must have been able to tell by her confused expression that she had no clue what was happening or what he was even talking about because he just stood up and took off his jacket, an annoyed expression creeping onto his face.
"Come with me, and I can help you."
Davina hesitated for a moment but quickly accepted the jacket, realizing that was her only option right now,
despite this guy's obvious temper. She didn't know why but she felt like she had a connection with this man somehow, so she put on the jacket he handed her.
It fell just past her butt, the sleeves going long past her small arms, but she was warmer than she was before and that was all that mattered.
She smiled gratefully, and a little uncertain. I mean, what was he doing in the woods anyways? Hiding a dead body? And why did he ask if she was a wolf? None of this made any sense right now, but she decided against all her knowledge to trust him.
"I'm Derek, Derek Hale."
And with that they just walked along into the woods as if it was a normal thing to be half naked and complete strangers.
Davina was so surprised at how calm he was to find a naked, dirty and confused looking sixteen year old girl lying in the woods.I mean what even goes on this town?
Despite Davina's desperate questions, she kept quiet and followed him,
having no clue that she had just met her
father.
