Chapter Four: Back To Headquarters

Ross turned around a few times, and all he saw was cops- they were all around them. Ross put his hands in the air, and Lili did the same.

"I thought you were a spy!" Ross whispered to Lili.

"I am." She replied.

"But-"

"Who says all spies are good?" Lili whispered with a slight smirk.

"Oh.."

"Here's the plan. Don't make any sudden moves, you have to be very subtle about this." Lili whispered.

"What?" Ross questioned.

"Just grab a gun and aim, but remember; once you pull the trigger.. There's no going back." Lili whispered and Ross widened his eyes.

"But I can't shoot a cop, that's against the-"

"You were the one that decided to follow me on this mission, now grab a gun." She whispered as she also grabbed a gun for herself. Ross sighed and slowly grabbed a gun.

"Hey! Drop the guns!" A cop yelled.

"Nice try, copper. I'm armed and dangerous." Lili said with a slight smirk as she pointed her gun at him, and quickly pulled the trigger, making the cop fall to the ground.

"Are you stupid or something? A little help!" Lili yelled to Ross when she realized he wasn't doing anything. She continued to shoot at numerous cops, making them fall.

Ross took in a deep breath and closed his eyes before pulling the trigger, even though he didn't know exactly where he aimed. Ross jumped a little once he heard the gun shoot and opened his eyes.

"No!" He screamed.

Lili was right- once he pulled the trigger, there was no going back, he couldn't do it over. He aimed at the wrong person. He shouldn't have closed his eyes. All the cops were down, but so was Lili. Lili must've taken all the cops down while Ross hesitated to shoot.

"You idiot." Lili exclaimed, but her voice was weak. She let out a small cough.

"Lili, no! Don't you dare die on me!" Ross ran to Lili and kneeled beside her. He moved her arm away from her stomach, revealing a wound where he had shot her.

"Ross, I'm.. I'm not dying," Lili said between coughs. "I just need to take care of this."

Lili then tried to stand up, but couldn't seem to stay on her feet.

"You need to get me to the headquarters. Now." Lili said weakly and Ross immediately picked her up and started running to the building they were previously at. Once he got there, he didn't bother saying his name, he just kicked the door open.

"SHE GOT SHOT. LILI GOT SHOT. WHAT DO I DO?" Ross screamed as he busted through the door, holding tightly onto Lili so she didn't fall. She seemed to get more and more weak as seconds passed.

"Shit! Get her to the back! Now!" Blake exclaimed and Ross nodded before heading to the back.

"How is this going to help anything? There's just a counter with weapons and stuff back here." Ross said to Blake as they reached the back.

"Just trust me." Blake said and quickly shoved the stuff off the counter and took Lili from Ross and laid her on the counter.

Lili groaned a bit and moved her arm to the area she had gotten shot.

"Go find Trevor." Blake said and Ross nodded. "Now!" Blake demanded.

Ross quickly ran toward the front of the building.

"Trevor!" Ross yelled, even though he didn't know who exactly he was looking for- he only knew his name.

"What is it?" A guy ran toward Ross.

"Are you Trevor?" Ross questioned.

"Yeah, I'm Trevor. What's wrong?" He asked.

"Just follow me!" Ross said and started running to the back, with Trevor following him.

"Lili? Dammit! She's our best one!" Trevor exclaimed when he saw Lili on the counter.

"Can you fix her?" Blake asked.

"I can try my best. Ross, who shot her?" Trevor asked, looking at Ross.

Tears started to form Ross's eyes.

"I.. I shot Lili. I swear it was an accident! I-"

"Don't worry about it. Accidents happen. I'm sure I can fix this. Just go back to the front." Trevor said and Ross nodded before hesitantly going back to the front.

"What exactly happened?" Blake asked as they sat down.

"We got caught, and we were trying to get rid of the cops, and I.. I closed my eyes and just shot without looking. I should've kept my eyes open. I-"

"Ross?!" Ross looked up and widened his eyes when he saw who was standing in front of him.

"RYLAND?" Ross immediately stood up.

"What are you doing here?" Ryland asked.

"I think the real question is why you're here?" Ross said to Ryland.

"It's hard to explain.." Ryland said.

"Ryland here is the second best spy in this organization, along with his partner, of course." Blake explained.

"Wait, what?" Ross said. "How long has this been going on?"

"About two years." Ryland admitted.

"Wow. How did I not know this?" Ross asked.

"Some secrets are best best kept." Ryland said.

"Um, who's this?" A girl with curly blonde hair asked as she approached Ryland and stood next to him.

"I'm Ross." Ross answered.

"Oh, that's right. Ross Shor. Lili Swift's new partner." The blonde said with a sly smile.

"He also happens to be my brother." Ryland said and looked at the blonde.

"Well. Nice to meet you, Ross. Your brother has been an excellent partner for me. I'm Celine." The blonde, who Ross just found out was named Celine, said and Ross nodded.

"Ross, can you come here?" Trevor said and motioned for Ross to come to the back.

"Is she okay?" Ross questioned as they reached the back.

"She will be. Just give her a few days, and she should be alright." Trevor explained.
