Cory was right. They were to us quicker than I imagined.
Cards. Playing cards. All Hearts.
"Aero Roberts?" One card asked, holding a small spear. I froze up, feeling cornered and attacked. Cory elbowed me.
I nodded.
"Her Majesty wishes to see you."
I looked at Cory. "I'm not going anywhere without him."
Cory face palmed. "Now you've done it," he mumbled.
"As you wish," the Card said. The Card helped me up onto the horse, placing Cory right behind me. We started our trek back.
. . .
Walking into the Castle, I couldn't help but be blown away. Everything was very grand, red being the main color. The Cards led us into the throne room, a long corridor with stain glass windows on all sides. Great columns rose from the ground, evenly separated around the room.A long red carpet ran down the center, leading to two thrones, one slightly smaller than the other.
The Prince was sitting in the larger one, his legs draped over the arm rests. The Cards stopped us and stood in a line behind Cory and I. Cory stood slightly in front of me, almost protective. I noticed the Queen was missing.
"I thought we were going to see the Queen," I muttered to Cory.
"So did I," he said.
The Prince stood up, smiling. He had dark black shaggy hair. Stubble lines his chin in a mature way, a harsh contrast to his pale skin. He wore all black, from his shoulders to his boots. A black sword handle stuck out of the sheave on his left hip. Right handed.
He grinned at me, rubbing his hands together and stopping in front of my face, less than a step away. "So, this is the human," He rang a finger along my jaw, stopping at my chin, holding me there. "She's not bad to look at." He laughed, a deep hearty laugh that made me feel anything but at ease.
"Let go of her." Cory's voice didn't waver as he said the command.
William looked at Cory, then back at me. He leaned in close to my ear, whispering, "I want to do very naughty things to you,"
I grabbed his wrist and jerked his grip off of my cheek. "You nasty son of a bitch," I spit on his cheek, the Playing Card Guards all tensing.
William wiped the spit off of his cheek with his sleeve. He glared at me, raising his hand and striking my cheek.
The slap caught me off guard and I fell to the ground. Cory was at my side at once, helping me stand. I yanked free of Cory's grip and glared at the Prince. I started to charge towards him, pointing my finger in his face. "Mark my words, you nasty bastard, I swear to God I will—"
"Take them to their rooms." William said, the guards grabbing my arms and pulling me away. He turned his back and walked to the throne. He sat down and laughed.
. . .
The rooms were nice, which surprised me. The Guard opened the door, already explaining everything. "Another Guard will be here in the morning to escort you. There is a bathroom where you are encouraged to wash up. Someone will be here shortly with food."The Guard glanced at the huge oak dresser. "Prince William wishes for you to wear the proper attire while you stay here. All clothing will be here. The sizes should fit you. Please do not leave the room without an escort."
I nodded.
"If that's all. I will be leaving."
I stood in the middle of the room and watched as the Card left. I relaxed once he was gone.
As promised, food was delivered. I ate it quickly, not realizing how hungry I was after the Prince. It was a simple sandwich, with an unknown meat. Looked like ham, tasted much different.
I sat down my bag and walked into the bathroom, craving a warm shower.
I turned on the water and stripped, happy to shed the smelly clothes. I stepped into the warm, relaxing quickly.
I washed my hair and body and stepped out. I grabbed a towel and wrapped it around my body. I went back into the bedroom and found silk PJs. I turned my back tot eh door and dropped the towel.
The door to my room opened and the Prince walked through. I heard his laugh before I knew he was there. "Nice ass,"
I gasped and grabbed my towel, covering my chest. "You know, because knocking is overrated." I said, stepping back.
"I thought that you wouldn't mind seeing me," He grinned, flashing white teeth against pale pink lips.
"I'd rather be dressed." I said, needing to readjust my towel, but scared I might accidently flash him.
"Don't mind me. Go ahead,"
I glared at him. "Turn around first."
He sighed and turned. I quickly pulled the night gown over my head, my back turned to William but my eyes on him.
"Can I turn back around now?" He asked, glancing over his shoulder.
I nodded. "Sure."
William smiled and took a large step towards me. I turned around, my back facing him. He wrapped his arms around my neck, pressing his lips to my throat. He was too close to me, I felt suffocated.
"Don't play hard to get," He sucked on my skin lightly, turning me around. He planted his lips on mine.
There was a knock, followed my Cory's voice. "Hey, Aero, are you—"
I pushed William off of me just to catch Cory turn away, a sad look on his face. "Cory! Wait—" The door shut.
I turned to William. "You." I slapped him. "I can't believe you just walked in here and acted like I'd want you. Just because you're human and I'm human does not mean I want to have your kids? Do you understand that?"
He smiled, sly. "Just wait, Princess,"
