Nash x Shawn

Where Shawn's life is about to taken away, so Nash sings him one last song.

Nash's POV

I have been waiting out in the waiting room for the past hour and I still don't know what is the update about my boyfriend Shawn.

All I remember was that he was involved in a shooting near San Diego and he got shot near his lung and diaphragm. So that means he will be in a critical condition.

Shawn's mom and sister Aaliyah are sitting by me with Hayes and my mom while dad was looking after Skylynn.

It was quiet until a doctor opened the doors to the Emergency Department. We all stood up while the doctor called out Shawn's name.

"That's all of us." I said while everyone agreed with me.

"Well, I'm afraid I have some bad news and no good news." The doctor said sympathetically while my eyes widened and I knew that everyone was speechless.

"What do you mean?" Aaliyah asked, voice shaken.

"Shawn has taken a gun shot into his heart and has severe internal bleeding. We might fear that he might not make it by the end of tonight if surgery doesn't work right now." I felt my eyes starting to sting while I see Hayes wrapping his arm around my back squeezing me into a quiet hug. "You all can go see him but try and not make too much noise okay? Because the doctors are annoyed by the noise in there." We all nodded and walked into the department where there were about thirty cubicles. The doctor was in front of us so we followed him to where Shawn was.

The department was really noisy. It was so loud that even I can hear my own thoughts.

As soon as we saw Shawn, he was sitting up, shirtless with the stitch across his heart.

Everyone hugged him first, except Hayes and I since we decided to just let him have some space.

I looked by Shawn's bed to see his guitar in place.

Maybe I should sing him a song.

"The doctors told us about your situation. And it isn't the best right now." Shawn's mom said while the said boy nodded in response.

"I know. The doctor told me himself as soon as I woke up." Shawn said, voice croaked like he had a sore throat.

"How are you feeling?" Aaliyah asked while Shawn raised his thumb up, showing to us that he is alright.

I turn to Hayes, who whispered into my ear. "Go, say to him what you want to say to him. I will go get the rest of the hospital to be quiet for you." I nodded before he left and my mom, his mom and Aaliyah stood at the foot of the bed.

"Hi babe," I greeted with a few tears sliding down my face.

"Hi Nash." He croaked back while I had a light smile on my face.

"You know, I still remember that time that you admitted that you love me. I know that I ran away that day, but it wasn't because I was scared of commitment, but I was scared how we were moving too quick at the time. But I now knew what I wanted to tell you. You are the peanut butter to my jelly, you are the heart of my happiness and I am to yours, you are the light to my darkness, you are the cutest person I have ever met-" I was cut off by Hayes telling everyone to be quiet. That was when everything went silent until he spoke.

"My brother is saying something to his boyfriend and don't anyone dare say a homophobic comment or your face will meet my fist." Hayes threatened while everyone in the department said a chorus of yes. I took a deep breath before I continued to what I wanted to say to Shawn.

"You are the X to my Y. You are my everything. And I love you." That was I heard a chorus of awes while Shawn smiled. I picked up his guitar and started to play with the tunes.

"In case we do lose you tonight Shawn, I want to sing you a special song. This song is Like I'm Gonna Lose You by Meghan Trainor and John Legend." I started before playing with the chords before I started to strum the guitar.

Shawn started to blush while everyone swayed in time of my song playing while the rest started to clap in time while I blushed in response.

No, we're not promised tomorrow." Shawn's eyes started to droop closed so we tried to lightly wake him up.

"I am proud of you Nashy. Seems like the guitar lessons paid off huh?" The Canadian croaked while I blushed in response.

"I love you Shawn." I said before I took Shawn's hand while he lapped his other on top of mine with my other hand on top of his.

"I love you too Nash." He said before his eyes started to flutter shut and a loud beep spreader throughout the whole to and I just knee what happened.

I lost Shawn.

I started to cry while everyone in Shawn's cubicle started to cry along with me.

"Shawn." I cried before I buried my head into his chest.

"I love you."
