You shut your eyes tight.
No, not another nightmare. You'd had enough of them.
All you could think about was your dad coming through the door with his belt, just waiting to whip you again.
Tears streamed down your face, you felt hot and sweaty, like you were trapped with no one to turn to.
"Help, please help me!" You yelled, crying, your eyes still closed. "He's coming to get me, help please?"
"Y/N?" You heard a voice.
"No, dad go away, please don't hurt me!!" You shouted frantically, trying to pull the covers over your face.
"Y/N it's only me, Leondre," whispered the voice.
You gasped and woke up, staring into the black emptiness of the ceiling.
"Baby are you okay? What happened?" Asked Leo, finding your small body In the dark and hold it in a tight hug.
"I-I think," you replied, breathing heavily with water still pouring from your eyes. "I had a nightmare...again."
"Was it..... um, your dad again?" He asked cautiously.
"Yeah...." You whispered, bringing your knees to your chest to try and get rid of the image.
"He's gone, you're safe with me I promise. Stop crying please, you're breaking my heart," said Leondre, his voice cracking.
"Don't you start crying Leo," you half laughed, trying to lighten the mood in the dark room. He let out a giggle and wiped a stray tear.
"I'm sorry, let's go to sleep yeah?" He asked, kissing you on the forehead and laying down next to you.
"Definitely."
"Night princess, I love you."
"I love you too."
"But I love you more....."
