"Lillian Marie, get down here this instant. You need to leave," my god awful stepmother screamed from downstairs. Shaking my head, I finish redoing my eyeliner for the fourth time and run to the kitchen. School starts in ten minutes and I haven't had breakfast. Grabbing an apple, I sprint out past my mom and out the front door. Today being the first day of my junior year and having a new teacher for first hour meant I was screwed.
"...Mr. Forbes and I will be your science teacher this year." I hear as I swing open the classroom door. All eyes turn on me as I attempt to sneak into my first hour. "Aah. A late comer on the very first day. And you are?"
Frantically scanning the room before finally landing my eyes on my teacher, I reply, "Um, I'm Lillian Brink, but I go by Lilly."
"Well Lillian, have a seat so I can continue my introduction." Gratefully I sprint to the back of the room and sit down next to my friend, Braxton. He smiled at my sympathetically as I pulled out my notebook. For the first time after rushing into class, I finally get to observe the "hot, new teacher" as all my friends call him. He had bright blue eyes that you couldn't miss, sandy blonde hair that was styled perfectly, scruff along his jaw, and pale pink lips. Mr. Forbes was wearing a blue plaid shirt tucked into his jeans and Nike running shoes. They were right. He is to die for.
"Um, Lil? The bell just rang. Come on," Braxton nudged me. I nodded and began to pack up my things. As I walked past my teacher, his cologne invaded my senses and my mind went fuzzy.
For the rest of the day all I could think about was Forbes' piercing blue eyes and intoxicating cologne. I carried on conversations with my friends, but I couldn't tell you what they were about even if I tried. Finally when the day was over, I stuffed all my stuff into my locker and practically ran to my bright, new, red convertible.
"Oof. Watch it, Asshole," I mumbled as I tumbled backwards after bumping into someone.
"Now Lillian, that is no way to talk to a teacher. Is it? I think you need detention for that kind of language." I looked up and was met with none other than those blue eyes I'd been thinking about all day.
"What that's so not fair," I objected.
"Too bad I don't care. Be at my room by 7:30 sharp tomorrow."
"AM?! Is that even allowed," I screeched.
"'Fraid so. See you then, Ms. Brinks." I huffed as I walked away, much to his amusement. Slamming my door, I turned on my car and sped home. As soon as I was in my room, I threw my hair into a bun, slipped on PJs, and started Netflix. The rest of the night I just watched that and texted my best friend, Bri. She thought the whole detention situation was just fuckin' hilarious. I, on the other hand, did not. This was going to be a long ass year.
