It was nearly 1:30 am when charm woke up after falling asleep to a movie. Her stomach growled, telling her that she was hungry. At this point, anything sounded good to eat, so charm shoved her shoes on and ran to her car. Peeling out of the parking area as quickly as possible to avoid bumping into Jimmy.
Charm allowed her stomach to lead her around the town until she came up on a side road through a thick forest. She followed the road, speeding every so often. It seemed to go on for quite a while.
She turned the music up on her radio, the brief second she looked away from the road, a figure stepped out into her path. She slammed on the breaks as quickly as possible but still managed to hit the form, flinging it a few feet into the road ahead of her.
The car skidded to a stop and charm sat, unable to move, her jaw dropped. Her eyes lingered on the body that lay in the road, about three minutes passed before the figure shifted and pushed himself up with his palms on the ground.
"Fuck!" The boy yelled loud enough to make Charms body jolt. She quickly unbuckled and removed herself from the front seat, rushing to stand near the boy on the ground.
"A-are you okay?" She managed to stutter. The boy moved to sit on his butt, his head in his hands. He was beginning to look a lot like Jimmy, his hair was styled the same way, though he wasn't as lanky, maybe a few inches shorter. She rested her hand on his shoulder as he groaned in pain.
"H-hey..." His head shot up at her.
~~~Johnny~~~
Her blue eyes were the first thing that he saw. He knew right away that she recognized him from Taco Hell.
"A-are you okay? I'm so sorry." She stuttered badly.
"I'm fine, but I'll definitely be feeling that in the morning." Nny didn't normally feel pain. It took a lot of effort for him to get something. The last time he felt pain was when Devi kicked his ass. That's why he liked her so much.
But Devi wasn't here, this new girl was. And she was offering her hand to him.
He took it very gently and she helped him stand up. He practically towered over the tiny girl.
"My name is Johnny." He spotted A slight smile tugging at the corner of her lips. She looked down.
"Johnny...are you sure you're alright? I did just hit you with my car..."
"Seeing how I can't exactly feel pain, though I won't lie I definitely felt that, mind it I like feeling things every once in a while, it's completely and utterly dreadful being numb. But to be honest with you, I might feel a little better knowing your name." She looked up at him, many questions and emotions seemed to roll across her face.
"Is this how you pick up girls Johnny? Jumping out in front of people's cars? That's a little dangerous." He could feel her getting a little more comfortable with him, but she was still very withdrawn and scared.
"Sorry, I should be almost dead, but I guess I'm just thankful I'm not. To be honest I haven't been myself lately. Which reminds me, since you ran me over, can you give me a ride home?"
The girl looked him over once, he did look like a rather creepy fellow, then looked back at her car.
"Charm. My name is Charm. I'd be glad to give you a ride home, Johnny."
~~~Charm~~~
Charm didn't know what was going through her at that moment. Shouldn't she be scared of this boy? Was he following her? Not to mention she hit him with her car and there isn't a single scratch on him.
They both climbed into the car and it took her a minute to calm her body from shaking before she was able to get the car in motion.
As if they were in Taco Hell again, she could feel his eyes on her. Again, she refused to look over, feeling her cheeks burning red.
The majority of the ride was silent other than Johnny pointing out where to turn and when. As they grew closer to his home Charm opened her mouth,
"Are you sure I don't need to take you to a hospital?" She gripped the steering wheel.
"I'm fine, trust me." He spoke, his eyes darting out the window. Charm wasn't sure how she felt about all of this, though even if she run him over, he was the first person to be nice to her.
She dropped him off at a trailer home with boarded up windows and dead grass, she swore she even saw a dead animal rotting off to the side.
"Thank you for taking me home Charm." Johnny stepped out of the car, shutting the door behind him and slowly made his way to the entrance of his house.
Charm bit her lip, wanting to say more as she watched him walk off. A small side of her hoped that she would get to actually hang out with him sometime, without having to hit him with her car.
