Charm was 19 years old when she moved to a new town. She had just moved out of her parents house and would be living alone in her own apartment.
Moving in was a breeze, all she had to do was point and tell the movers where to put things. She figured she would invite her friend over in a few days to help her decorate.
Once the movers had left, she began unpacking her room. Making her bed, putting her figurines on her dresser and posters on the walls. She hung a black sheet up over the window to block out the sunlight. She preferred darker living areas, as well as darker clothes.
Her parents tried changing her, almost forcing her to change her style, she eventually got fed up with it, and now she's here. Living alone. She had begun to grow hungry, so Charm took a break from unpacking and left her apartment to explore the town.
The town wasn't that big, there were a total of 2 clubs, a few diners (tons of fast food restaurants though.), 1 small Walmart, and a mall if you were willing to drive 30 minutes to get to it. She drove to the nearest Taco Hell and parked. Her social anxiety began to tap her shoulder as she entered the building so she put her earbuds in and quietly ordered some nachos and Cinnabon. While waiting for her food she sat at one of the barstool tables and kicked her feet while listening to music. Her music seemed to distract her from the looks she would get, it helped her ignore the chatter as well, but it didn't help her hide as well as she wished she could.
Now with her food, she nibbled on her Cinnabon first, licking the sugar off her fingers after every cinnamon dipped ball.
While shoving one into her mouth she couldn't help but look up at her surroundings, she was getting a few glances but not as many as usual. But one glance in particular gained her attention. A boy, probably a little older than her, she wasn't sure, wearing a striped long sleeve shirt and ripped up pants, kept looking up from his food to watch her. Her anxiety kept her from getting a better look at him, she didn't want to make eye contact, but he did make her very curious.
She couldn't help but shove her food into her mouth faster, attempting to finish quickly so she could leave the looks she was getting.
Charm threw away her trash into the nearest bin and walked out the door briskly to her car. The sound of feet following her made her jump into her car and start it up as quickly as possible, not catching a single glimpse at who was following her.Social anxiety killed her some days. Not being able to socialize properly. Getting overly freaked out just because someone is watching you.
As the light in the sky began to decrease, she drove on, wondering what her friends were up to. If they missed her yet and when they would come visit.
She made it back to her apartment and turned off the car. Charm checked her phone for any messages or missed calls only to find one text from her mother, asking her if she had made it home okay.
Charm sent a message back, stating that she had made it and she was almost already done with unpacking.
A light rapping on her window pulled her eyes away from her phone. A tall string bean boy, about her age, with pale skin, slight acne, and black spiky hair stood, grinning awkwardly into her window. She opened the door and he took a step back, giving her room to climb out and stand in front of him. He was much taller than she was, then again she was only 5'3.
"Can I help you?" she began to grow weary, afraid he might have been the boy at Taco Hell.
"Yes! My name is Jimmy! I live right next door to you, I saw your moving truck this morning and I got dressed and all ready to meet you, but when I got outside, you had left! I had to sit here and wait for you to come back! I find that a little rude to be honest. But you know, I didn't realize how pretty you were, so I forgive you!"
Taken aback by the boys rambling, she was unsure of how to respond. Jimmy raised a brow at her.
"Um....thank you?" She managed to speak.
"You're welcome! Now, are you going to invite me inside? What's your name by the way?" His grin widened, exposing a few crooked teeth.
"Oh, um, it's Charm. But, I'm sorry Jimmy, my home is a little messy right now, maybe some other time." She took a few steps back, making her way towards her apartment. He took a step towards her.
"It's okay Charm!" He seemed to linger a second too long on her name. "My room is always messy. You know you could come to my house, I have a python! Do you like snakes?" He began rambling again, not letting her get any words out herself. The more she stepped back, the more he stepped closer. Her anxiety began creeping up on her, making her face turn red and her heart pound in her tiny chest. If she didn't get away from him soon, she would end up screaming.
"S-sorry, Jimmy I can't. I'm really really busy." Charm turned and took off running towards her front door and slipped in as quick as possible, leaving Jimmy standing in confusion by her car. He waved once before making his way to his apartment, grinning as if he didn't realize he had just scared the shit out of her.
