Chapter 1
"Azailia ae you hungry?' My mom asked me from downstairs. "No." I say while staring up at the ceiling. I heard footsteps on its way up. The door slightly opened. "You haven't eaten in two days." My mom says while walking towards the bed and sitting down. "Not true. I ate a pop tart and a piece of gum this morning." I say trying to avoid eye contact. "Do you want to talk about it?' She asks weary. "No. Now can you please leave." I say while putting in headphones. She stood up, walked to the door and slammed it shut. I haven't been eating a lot lately. I lost 15 pounds. Two weeks ago Calvin and I broke up. Also two weeks ago Elle went to California to help her uncle at work. Zach got an internship in Europe and I stayed here. I recently started cutting too.
I lost everything.
I lost everyone that I cared about.
I was lost.
I walked over to the end of my room where the bookshelf was. It was filled with memories of things I loved and things that used to bring joy to me. I grabbed the thickest book and opened it. Metal stared back at me. I grabbed a blade and looked at it. I walked over to my bathroom with blade in hand. Locked the door and sat on the floor. I brought the blade up to my wrist then swiped it across. When you cut the skin around it puffs up. The blood comes up like little beads.Making a crimson line. It burns and stings at first but then it feels good. Thats the worst part. Your body is in pain but your mind is at ease. Your mind says 'One more cut please?' Then you cut. That one cut turns into two, then two turns to three, three turns to four. And before you know it your whole arm is filled with blood.
Tears started to fill my eyes. 'Why am I doing this to myself? Why am I hurting my body?' I put gauze over my wrist. Then threw on my sweatshirt and waited for the day to end.
