I inhale the cool morning air as I push open the doors of the school compound, walking in past the grey metallic lockers towards mine.

I always like arriving earlier than most because the usually loud, noisy corridors were quiet, empty, serene. Also, I got an hour or so to read my textbooks ahead of what we could be going over in the coming lessons or so. Yes, yes I'm one of those girls.

I guess I like coming early because I get the time to myself, and I get to watch other people slowly trailing in as the time ticks closer to nine A. M. Sometimes I sit invisible, unknown by the people passing, laughing, giggling, chattering. Watching them go past, observing them and their varying emotions. It helps, sometimes. Being a hero(ine) I learn from this, watching people's body language, understanding my peers. It applies to everyone: people would all have similar quirks to them. Sometimes I wonder if I should major in Psychology.

Now, I close the locker door and turn around, my eyes fixed upon my Biology textbook. In a spruce I decide that I don't want to people-watch today, I would need to study for the upcoming SATs in six months. It's never too early.

If a molecule of DNA is composed of approximately 16.2% adenine (A) and 33.4% guanine (G), the percentage thymine (T) and cytosine (C) must be approximately:

(A) 16.3% T and 16.3% C.

(B) 34.1% T and 34.1% C.

(C) 34.1% T and 16.3% C.

(D) 16.3% T and 34.1% C.

(E) 33.4% T and 16.2% C.

Hmm, I think to myself, my brain beginning to whir like a machine, I definitely know this. I wrack my brain for an answer as I head towards the student lounge, my eyes concentrated on the question.

If a molecule of DNA is composed of approximately 16.2% adenine (A) and 33.4% guanine (G), the percentage thymine (T) and cytosine (C) must be approximately...?

What would it be? I mentally begin calculating, my brain trying to recall a passage from the Biology textbook. In the DNA molecule, base pairing occurs between adenine and thymine, which are held together by two hydrogen bonds, and base pairing occurs between guanine and cytosine, which are held together by three hydrogen bonds. Therefore -

"Ow!" I crash into someone, and drop all of my books onto the ground. The fuck...?

I groan before kneeling and gathering my books. I scramble to pick up all my worksheets before someone grabs some of them, collecting and stacking them neatly before passing them to me. I look up into a grassy-green-eyed stranger, with mussed golden brown hair styled into the perfect bedhead. Oh. My. Gosh.

I must have been staring for too long with my mouth half-open and the beautiful stranger smirked.

"It's okay, I get that a lot, I can't help my perfection, I'm sorry for that," the beautiful stranger grins, before tilting his head, "I also apologise for knocking into such a beautiful woman as you, but unfortunately for you and every other human in this world, my one true love will always remain myself."
