Eyes

I saw him
At a local drug store.
Smoking
Outside.

We had just moved here,
My family and I.

I rode my bike
To that same store
Every day.

But I had never
Seen him there
Before.

I felt his eyes on me
As I chained my bike
Outside.

They crawled
As slow as the day is long.

From the part
Of my thin blonde hair,
Across my long skinny nose,

Caressing my collar bones
With his gaze.

Down my,

Rather small,

Breast.

Over my stomach,
To my hips,
And finally to my feet.

The whole way as I walked in,
There he was
Taking me in.

I could feel it.
Touching
Grabbing
And claiming me.

By the time I reached the safety
Of the store,
I
Was
Breathless.

No one

Had ever

Looked at my like that.

With thirst.
Desire.
Want.

I was intrigued.
Captivated.

But alas.
I was also very shy.

As quickly as I could
And without looking
In his direction,
I hopped back on my bike,
And rode away.

When I hit my bed that night
I didn't sleep.
I couldn't.

All I could see
When I closed my eyes,
Were those dark,
Round,
Teddy boy eyes
Of his,
That looked at me the way they did.
