Practice Makes Perfect

Trey's POV:

So it's Monday and I'm ready for basketball practice after school. I haven't heard from coach all weekend which means he has calmed down. He was angry because last week we had a game against Westbrooke and we lose because I was trying to impress the scout from Oklahoma State. I think she wasn't impressed because after the game she didn't even look my way. I just didn't practice with the team for the rest of the week. So I do the usual wake up routine with Devin ,but today Sky and Shay don't need a ride from me because they are getting a ride from my cousin Reggie. Reggie is about 5'5, light-skinned and is one of my favorite cousins. I think he still has feelings for Sky and she has a little flame left for him too ,but I don't care about that. Sky loves me...... I think.

Sky's POV:

I know Trey is gonna be all worried cause I didn't want a ride from him. He knows me and Reggie use to have a little thing for each other. I really did like him then all of a sudden Trey came around. Reggie acted like he didn't care ,but I know he did. We still talk at school in front of Trey. I'm just now noticing every time I ignore him for Reggie he walks off and go talks to someone else. I barely see Trey at school since we only have basketball class and lunch together. Me and Reggie see each other all day. I just wish that Trey didn't worry about us. I don't have any feelings for Reggie.... I think.

Trey's POV:

So I pull up to the school and look around lost. Devin is still at home because he has his own "whip" now. He know he wanna ride in my car. I noticed when I pulled up that this was the first time I had came to school alone. I think about all the wild car rides we had and now I'm wondering if all that is gonna change because of Reggie. It was like as soon as I said his name in my head they pulled up in his Avalanche. "Hey my little giraffe" Sky said pinching my cheeks and not the ones on my face. So I slapped he on her ass and she faked cried. "Ahh shut up you know that ain't hurt" I said. "Boy shut up" and then she flipped me off and walked to the hangout and everybody was there except Josh. I asked where he was and Kayla immediately said" Oh he left cause I broke up with him". Everyone looked shocked about what she just said. I knew she didn't do it for no reason. "Did he cheat?" Rose said. "No". "Did he act dumb?" Arianna asked. "Yea but that's not the reason...that is" she said. She was pointing at the new boy Jacob or Justin whatever his name is. He looked pretty cool but seemed kinda cocky like he plays football. "Yall go be friends with him" Kayla told us. "Hell naw I ain't with that football shit" I said. "Strictly hoopers" Devin said. Me and Sky laughed with him because we were the only other basketball players. The girls were either majorettes, dancing, or cheerleaders. Reggie played football so he walked away. "I see why you liked him" Kayla said. Sky shot me a look and I just walked away.

So when I was walking to the locker room I saw Sky and I stopped her. She looked a little confused because I guess she thought I was mad at her. "What Trey I'm trying to get ready for practice and you need to be doing the same?". "Am I competing?" I asked. "Well yea you are on the basketball team. Anymore stupid questions?". "No I'm talking about for your heart." . "Who would you be competing with?". "Reggie". "Oh no you aren't competing for me. Why would you say that?" . "Tell me you have absolutely no feelings for him" . "Is this a problem because we are hanging out. Really Trey you need to calm down". "Tell me you have no feelings for him". She just walked to the locker room not saying anything to me.

While we were in practiced I only focused on basketball. I made almost all my shots and coach told me to calm down because my facial expression scared him. "Mane stop crossing me over for I play shooting guard and take yo spot" Devin said. I ignored and continued hustling on the court. I know Pat was mad because I was doing so good he didn't get any playing time. "Ok look here the girls said they want to scrimmage against you guys. It's the first one to 30 so I need no slacking. Starting Lineup: Trey, Devin, Joe, Kevin, and Cory." . "Coach I always play shooting guard. Why did you move me to point?" . "Because they moved Skylar to point thinking I wouldn't find out". No this is the last thing I needed was being point. I wanted to play shooting cause that's what I do. Shoot. I didn't complain I just tied my shoes getting ready. "Rich As Fuck" was playing in my head as we started. I was so pumped that I started getting mad. We got jump ball  and I instantly took off and shot a three pointer. Sky was angry and tried to rock me so I stole the ball and passed a ally to Devin who can't dunk and he layed it up. She was pissed so she ran the court and hit a three right in Joe face. We were starting off good and about 5 minutes later the score was 24-16. I had 20 and Devin had 2 and I don't care who had the other 2. Sky had 10 and was trying to match me ,but it was too late. I ran down the court shooting like there was no tomorrow and we won. I hit 3 three's in a row. We won and I was glad and I knew Sky was pissed. So after the game she told me that she didn't like the way I was acting. "Wouldn't you be a little concerned if I was hanging with other girls?". "No Trey because unlike you I have trust" she said. Then she just ran away not saying another word to me. What did I do wrong?
