~Aaron's POV
Two hours away until I would see her again.
And I will see her alive.
We were currently boarding our ship and what Maddie would call "spaceship" I smiled momentarily at the thought of her. And for some weird reason, my heart ached. I missed that weird laugh of hers and how she would yell at just about anyone, even me. I don't think she even knows how dangerous I could be but then again, if I told her that she would probably just laugh at me for trying to be "macho man".
After many people telling me to go to sleep, I finally did.
I woke up, feeling like a new man. I stretched my achy muscles. Today was the day I would find her, ,alive. After about thirty minutes of gearing up and taking our weapons we left the ship. (It had landed a few blocks away from the creepy building that he was holding Maddie in.
Me and James led the way, with James's new found power and his mad archery skills,we were practically invincible. With the exception of Maddie, Maddie was the our weakness.
We wanted her alive and they could kill her easy, this is why I had never been able to fall in love, I was too scared. But maybe I was just selfish, not letting people in because I was too afraid I would get hurt, and I Maddie was hurt...or even worse dead, I couldn't live with myself. I had finally let myself love someone, and I never had the chance to even tell her.
Surprisingly it was easy to get in, the guards seemed to be gone, somewhere. Red lights flickered in the hallways, we ran until the sirens got increasingly louder, I tried focusing on Maddie and solely Maddie, so my sensitive hearing wasn't damaged.
It was only about twenty minutes but it felt like hours searching, but we finally found it. A room, almost like an examination room, we had these during school. We would find other creatures weak points, while they were chained, helpless, to a hospital bed. It was never cruel and unusual to us, we were raised to be fighters and know our enemies weak points. And that comes in advantage, but they never taught us how to find a weak point in one of our own kinds. Of course that was common knowledge, we know our strength and weaknesses. Like we know our family, but you couldn't always count on that, especial when my brother should be preparing his own death.
I looked around to find the bed had been tipped over. Once I saw blood my heart dropped. I saw my sister fall out from behind the door we just came out of, hearing her thump on the floor, I spun. I carefully held her head, she definitely had cranial bleeding from something being thrown at her head. I searched her mind, to see what had happened, but all I got was static.
This was a sign of brain imprisonment, or should I say mind control, and there was only one person I knew of that could hide this from me.
Jackson.
"Aaron." I heard James whisper, even though he was across the room I could hear him just as loudly as I could if he was right next to me.
I looked around and found James kneeling beside a body, and that body was Maddie's. Her hand was oozing blood, and she was lying in a puddle of blood.
"Oh my god." I breathed, I almost laughed at how ironic that sounded, how could God let this happen? We didn't have churches here, we didn't have Gods, people looked up to the royal family, which was us. But Maddie had told me about this 'god' and how she went to church and how amazing it was, of course I just listened. not really interested, but she seemed to be so I stayed in tuned with her.
"I-I- Is she dead?" I stuttered. Not knowing what to do.
James put his hand on her neck, checking for a pulse. I saw a tears escape his eyes, a put his head on her chest and heaved, sobbing.
