Mikasas P.O.V
"Mikasa wake up!" I can vaguely hear my mom calling my name. She shakes me, trying to wake me up.
I rub my eyes and quickly sit up, glancing over to my alarm clock- it's 2am.
"We need to go, pack what you need, we leave in 20 minutes." She says calmly. I know how important it is to leave fast, and with that I pack only the memories in my room.
20 minutes later I was out of the house to meet my mom and dad in the car. With just a glance, I can see how tired they are. Their blank stares out the window and silence fill the atmosphere. I open the car door and take my seat, only to fall back asleep again.
-
I wake up to see blue skies and lakes to my left and to my right. "so where are we headed this time?"
"Miami." Dad says in a groggy voice, he must have been driving this whole time. He had his shades on and a frustrated look on his face. My mom was on the phone with someone, probably selling the house by now. "Hey Mikasa, can you go online and check out houses for sale in Miami?"
"Any place in mind?"
"No."Dad interrupts firmly. I spend the next 2 hours looking for a house perfectly suited for my family, near a school, by the beach, spacious. The tricky part is getting it ready in 3 days. This whole process tires me but the fact that I'm actually contributing feels rewarding.
-
"We will be in Miami in an hour." Dad says dryly. "Now let's go through this again, I work as an accountant at a small company, and your mother works in a bakery"
"I know and I like to do ballet and draw." I doubt I'll ever understand girls my age but I have to act like of them to "blend in" I guess. I only wish my parents trusted me like I trust them- without questions.
An hour later and we arrive in Miami at our new house. I get out of the car and stretch my legs, then start looking around the property to see we have a very open property and neighbours. I walk back over to the front door and open the mailbox to grab the keys. I slowly unlocked the door before pushing it open and staring down the bright yellow hallway. I soak up the feeling of this new house. It feels familiar.
I walk through the house, looking at every imperfection in every room, and eventually claiming a room of my own. This room was like a punch in he face for me. Every new step in this room felt like someone was tugging at my chest and I don't know why. I want to be in here forever, the attic is now mine.
I run down to the car to bring in my two boxes. I reach into the back seat of my car but I stop when I see my parents with the neighbours. I continue grabbing my boxes and see another person walking out of the house next door. I hurry back to my room unseen. I have only some clothes and my keepsakes with me, no room decor and no furniture. I look down at my watch, it's only 3pm. Walking over to one of the two boxes that I have, I take out my computer. I already know all of the credit card numbers for my parents so I am well able to order my basic needs online so I wont have to leave. I start browsing through the stores online that are near by. I want to make my room well packed so I wont have to leave. I need bookshelves, a bed, night table, dresser, desk, and make up table. There's just a seven day wait until my things arrive but for now I'm just going to have to sleep on the floor with one of the few blankets we brought.
-
I wake up to the sound of my alarm and I for a few seconds I lay, eyes closed, not knowing where I am. I open my eyes and get up from the where were I slept, my furniture still hasn't arrived. I get up and walk over to my bathroom and shower before getting dressed into a knee length pink skirt, a white collard, sparkly shirt, and white flats. I have no opinion on my outfit, though this is not my style, but my parents pick out my clothes so I must wear what they buy me.
I leave my house shortly after putting my lunch into a white backpack filled with my books and notifying my parents that I was leaving. I walk down the sidewalk for 5 short minutes, looking at all of the new scenes before I reached my school. I head straight to the office, avoiding as many people as possible, and walking into the office to see a package on the counter labelled Mikasa Ackerman. I quietly slip it off the desk and turn for the door but am stopped as I reach it.
"Hey are you the new student?" I turned around to see a guy with the brightest green eyes I've ever seen in my life, holy shit.
"Yes." I say before turning and walking out the door.
"Wait up! My name is Eren, I'm in your class and I have been assigned to show you around the school." He says running up beside me.
"Okay, where are we going then?" I ask.
"Follow me, we have to go to your locker first." He said giving me a smile. I follow walking three steps behind this guy, something didn't seem right about him but I just couldn't figure out what. After dropping off my books to my locker and grabbing my books for my first class Eren gave me a tour of the school.
My whole day seemed normal and in every class I sat in annoyance at the things we were learning, they are too simple. I grabbed my bag from my locker and walked out of the school at the bell. I head straight home but notice that the Eren kid is following me. I walked to my front door and wait until he gets to his. He's my neighbour, what an inconvenience.
I go straight to my room and change my clothes before leaving my house and getting on the first bus that came my way. I don't know where I'm headed but I don't want to be home right now. The bus takes me to see many different sights like the sunsetting on the beach, the bright lights that lit up the city, and even a little ice cream store not far from my house. after a long two hours of riding the bus I finally get off. I walk the remainder block home and I quietly open the door to my house. I see a few pairs of shoes at the entrance and I can hear my parents laughing with some other people in the kitchen. I enter the kitchen to see a couple around my parents age, sitting at the dinner table across from my parents with who is assume to be their son, Eren. I was surprised but I already knew something was off about him. I turned to leave the room before anyone saw me.
"Mikasa, you're late for supper." My mother called out.
"Oh yea, um, sorry about that. I didn't know we would be having guests." I say turning around and taking a seat beside Eren.
"Mrs and Mr.Jaeger I would like you to meet my daughter Mikasa." My mother says gesturing towards me.
"Hi it's nice to meet you. I go to school with Eren." I say politely.
