It has been three days since Draco realized his feelings for Gwyneth. Even though he has tried his best to avoid her in the halls, common room, and meals he still found himself thinking about her. It didn't make sense, why couldn't he just shove her out of his mind. He has no trouble ignoring any other student. He sighed as he sat down in the empty common room, it was midday, the other students were out walking enjoying the weather for the weekend. He relaxed into the cushion of the chair when he heard the door open. As he looked up he saw Gwyneth sneaking in, her head ducked low, and her left leg causing a slight limp. He cleared his thorat, causing her to startle a bit. "Oh h-hello Draco." She kept her head low, not meeting his gaze. He almost shrugged it off until a small drop of blood landed on the carpet. "Gwyneth you're bleeding." She looked up at him, revealing her beaten face. Her lips was cut and swollen. Her left eye black, and her nose bleeding. He quickly walked over to her. "What happened? Who did this to you?" He asked, protective anger flaring within him. He lead her over to the small couch. "It..it was a few Ravenclaw girls. They cornered me in the restroom." At this she began to cry. His anger only flared up more. "Gwyneth we need to get you to Madem Pomfrey. Now come on." He pulled her up but saw her wince as she put weight on her left foot. "Gwyneth, how much can you move your left foot?" She looked down again like an ashamed dog. "N-not much. It hurts too much to move." He nodded and the picked her up like a groom would with his bride. "Draco O-I can walk-" He cut her off "No the bone is most likely broken, I'm carrying you well take the back way to the hospital wing." With that he carried her out of the common room and ducked into one of the hallways. Whenever they had to uses stairs she winced. He mentally growled. He would find out which Ravenclaws did this. No one had the right to hurt her. And they say Slytherian is the meanest house. Once they finally reached the hospital wing, he sighed with relief. He was only two steps in the doorway when Madem Pomfrey walked up to him. "Lay her over there" She said motioning to and empty bed. He walked twords the bed and gently laid her down. He backed away to let Madem Pomfrey treat her. After a few minutes, and spells Gwyneth looked as though she was never in a fight. Madem Pomfrey nodded. "There you can leave now." With that she walked back to her desk. Gwyneth carefully stood up, and walked silently next to Draco as they walked back to the common room. As they were walking down an empty hallway she spoke up, breaking the silence. "Thanks for helping me." Draco looked at her, and saw that she was hiding behind her hair the fact that she was blushing. "You're welcome." With that they finished their walk back in silence. As they entered the common room he spotted Crabbe and Goyle. Oh no, he thought, I'm doomed. Crabbe spotted him first. "Oi, look who it is Goyle, The Little Fawn. I heard you had a bit of trouble walking today, got beat up by a couple Ravens." He chuckles as Goyle imitates a raven call. Only when he didn't hear Draco laughing did he look up. "What's wrong Draco? Why arn't you joining in?" Draco paused. Oh no, he thought, no no no. I can't let it show...Gwyneth please forgive me. He put on his sneer and rolled his eyes. "I was waiting to be heard over Goyle's screeching. Wanted to make sure the little fawn could hear. Getting beat up by a couple of Ravens is a disgrace to our house. I don't know why you where even sorted into Slytherian. I honestly think you would do much better in Huffelpuff with all the other soft hearted losers." He laughed along with Crabbe and Goyle. He only stopped when he saw the tears in her eyes. As he opened his mouth to say something, her tears turned to those of anger. "Yes why was I sorted into Slytherian. It seems that the only thing this house is full of is bullies and and jerks!" With that she shoved her way past him and scurried up the steps to her room. He sat there in silence for a moment as he regretted everything he had said. Goyle was the one who broke the silence. "Well isn't she a feisty one. Oh well maybe she'll transfer put by joliday. She really is too soft hearted." Draco simply nodded and sat down. Why did he do that. He made her cry. He sat down and began to finish his charms homework, but as the room fell silent he thought he could hear the sound of muffled sobs.
