The next day was storming, so all students were to stay inside. As they ate breakfast the ceiling above them crackled with lighting. As Draco ate Gwyneth sat beside him, a small smile on her lips. The post arrived right on time, a letter for Gwyneth and supriseingly one for Draco. As he read it his joy for the upcoming trip died. His farther was going to be there on business and wanted meet with him an hour past noon. He sighed, causing Gwyneth to look at him. "What's wrong?" He shook his head. "My father wants to meet me an hour past noon. That was when we were supposed to meet your mother." Gwyneth smiled. That's ok I just received a letter that she had to bumbed it up an hour. It'll be fine." Draco smiled. For the first time something would work. "Good, now we better get to class. And meet me in the alcove after lunch." Gwyneth nodded and scurried off to class. As the day continued the weather along with Draco mood lifted. When it was time to meet Gwyneth in the alcove everything was going smoothly. He sat there for a few minutes waiting for her to arrive. As he waited he pulled out his wand. Now was a good time as ever to practice his pantourus. The amount of dementors around the wizerding world was increasing. He waved his wand and muttered "Expecto Pantourus." Slowly but surely a sliver mist emerged from his wand and began to take on the form of a snarling wolf, foaming at the mouth. Just as it faded away he heard Gwyneth aproaching. As she rounded the corner he looked up. He smiled when he saw her. "So what did you want to talk about?" She asked. He took a deep breath. "I wanted to let you know the reason I was so rude. It's my family. They don't associate with anyone who arn't purebloods, especially muggle borns. Crabbe and Goyle would tell my father immediately if they saw me acting strange." Gwyneth nodded. "Well I guess as long as the insults arn't too terrible I won't be angry at you." Draco sighed. "Thank you." She nodded and then asked a bit nervously "Why where they calling me 'Little fawn'?" Draco shrugged. "They wanted to call you a rat but I said your face looks a bit like a fawns, no insult intended." She smiled and looked less tense. "No taken. Now I have to get to class." With that he watched her walk away before he headed to his own class. That night as he laid in bed he wondered why his father would have business in Hogsmead. The more he thought about the more the pit in his stomach grew. He could only hope that no matter what happened, that his father wouldn't see Gwyneth. He wouldn't be able to handle her being hurt.
