"A, do you want some pancakes?", Zoey, my best friend, also the girl I lived with, called from the kitchen as I struggled to clip a bra. Don't blame me, those things are death traps.
"I'm gonna be late for picking Lo up, just boil an egg for me", I yelled back, finally getting the damned bra to work. Took me long enough.
"Ah, I'm so happy I finished high school", Zoey laughed loudly from the kitchen, and I threw on a shirt, laced up my converse, grabbed my back pack which was filled won't unfinished homework, and ran to the kitchen.
"Shut up, just because your two years older then me doesn't mean your better then me", I rolled my eyes.
"Hey, I'm your legal guardian, don't speak to me like that!", she teased, sticking her tongue out.
Yeah, my best friend and I grew up in an orphanage together, and as soon as she turned eighteen she was out of there and when she got a job she adopted me.
I've been an orphan since I was nine, I also have amnesia so I can't remember exactly what happened in my previous life.
"Would you like me to call you mom? Like your a fifty year old women with saggy boobs?", I asked, taking a seat at the table, doubling over with laughter.
"Uh, no. I look nothing like a fifty year old women with saggy boobs, I'm so sexy, millions of people that live in Castella don't think I look old", Zoey felt the need to inform me that everyone thought that she was hot, and only because once she won that title in a magazine, two years ago when they visited the orphanage.
"Whatever, and isn't that dumb ball thingy for everyone relevant tonight? As in, practically everyone but is is attending, even if you are 'the hottest orphan'"I asked, knowing that she would not be happy with me for calling it dumb.
"Dumb? The royal family, along with Prince Ace's best friend, Prince Bennett are attending", Zoey gasped in mock outrage, looking at me as if I was an idiot for calling it dumb.
"The royal family is probably spoiled rotten, the worst thing that ever happened to the princes was the loss of Princess Alessandra, and that was years ago", I pointed out, feeling slightly bad for the poor girl, she was kidnapped a year before I became an orphan, and pronounced dead a day before I showed up on the orphanages door step.
"I still find it strange how you have the same birthday is her, while the whole country is mourning, your celebrating!", Zoey exclaimed, handing me my egg.
"Yeah, but hey, I'm eighteen tomorrow, which means I get to get my blood test and find my parents", I suddenly frowned, not sure I wanted to know who they were.
"Yeah, good luck", Zoey gave me a sad smile, her parents had died during the horrible war against the Slyvians, it was actually during that war in which Alessandra was kidnapped.
The Slyvians are a nearby country, now closed off ever since loosing that war.
"I'll need it, later", I said, grabbing the keys and dashing out the door.
"Have fun at school A", she called, and I mentally cursed her.
So, seeing as we were poor as dirt, how exactly did I have a car to get to school?
We have a really super old motorcycle, the one thing Zoey did get from her distant aunt, and only family she has left.
Lo, or Logan, completely hates that thing, he calls it a death trap, but he doesn't want to walk to school either.
Logan is my other best friend, he's gay, and twin brother of the most popular girl in our school, who has decided that he is not her brother anymore, due to the fact that he is gay.
Which means he is now a social outcast, as am I for being his friend. But that's cool, people are annoying anyways, it's better with just a few friends if you can really trust them.
I felt the wind rush through my hair as I sped down the alley behind our apartment and into the highway, smiling with exhilaration as I zoomed in and out of the morning traffic.
When I got to Lo's house he was already waiting outside for me, his hand on his hip as he looked apprehensively at my motorcycle.
"A, sweetie, are you sure that thing won't collapse on the road?", he asked his regular question.
"Yes Lo, now hop on, we are going to be late", I demanded, looking at my ratty old watch.
"Does it really matter if we are late? We have no friends, and you rack detentions up faster then Cleo can give a blow job", he sighed, getting onto the motorcycle. Cleo is his twin sister.
"If you hate this thing so much, ride with Cleos friends", I replied, revving the engine.
Lo said something, but I couldn't hear due to the fact that I was once again jetting through the streets, my hair probably getting all over his face.
As we pulled into the school parking lot I realized we had a good five minutes before I needed to get to first period, twenty three minutes late, as usual.
Ms. Ivy loves repetition, so I made a joke out of it by being twenty three minutes late every morning.
"Oh, hi A", Kaira, one of Cleo's minions, smiled fakely and waltzed up to me.
"Hello", I said warily, stepping off of my bike.
"So, remind me again? Why do people call you A?", Kaira asked fakely, and I groaned inwardly, like I hadn't heard this one a thousand times before.
"Because nobody ever bothered to give her a proper name", Gianna, another fake, cackled, and the two of them fell into a fit of loud, obnoxious laughter.
"I'm sorry, did you two say something? I apologize, I never learned to speak basic", I shot back, and Logan muffled a snicker horribly.
"Whatever", Kairas eyes narrowed.
"Yeah, you bitch", Gianna seethed, and the two of them sashayed away.
"Next time you should be the bigger person", Logan informed me.
"Lo, I'm five foot one, how on earth do I become the bigger person?", I joked, punching his arm.
"Don't get sassy missy, do you want a life time of detentions?", Lo's tone was light, but I could hear an undertone of seriousness.
"Don't worry Lo, everything will workout for me in the end", I shrugged, hefting the bag over my shoulder and began to walk towards the building, Lo at my side.
"I'm just saying, don't you want a future?", Lo asked again.
"I'm not planning on dying anytime soon, if that's what your talking about", I opened the school door for him.
"That's not what I mean A, and you know it", Lo sighed, and then went down a separate hallway, as I had to go to the last one, I don't have a last name.
I walked over to my locker, dreading Ms. Ivy's class, seeing as Cleo, Queen bee herself would be there.
