I woke up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep so I pulled out my phone and started texting her.
"Hey you up?"
Within a few seconds I see the three periods come up on my screen indicating that she's typing.
"I am now.. You okay?"
"Just couldn't sleep sorry I woke you. Do you need to get back to sleep?"
"No I'm up so I won't be getting back to sleep..plus I don't mind talking to you."
I feel terrible I woke her up now but it's nice that she's willing to stay up with me when I have trouble sleeping. Sigh this is honestly the third time and probably won't be the last time.
She is such a great friend to me and I feel like that is why I can't get out that I like her because I don't want to ruin a friendship I have with her. I don't want to loose my best friend.
"Thanks for staying up with me again Cecilia, your such a great friend to me how can I make it up to you?"
"Maybe a date?" She asks
I reread the screen over a couple of times. Was this really happening!?!?
She likes me and wants to go on a date with me?!? I couldn't believe what I was reading.
I sent a smiley face emoji back.
"Oops this is awkward I meant that for someone else... I am SOO sorry. Alex, I like you as a friend and you know that, but, hey I'm gonna try and get some sleep. Goodnight Alex."
I sent back "It's fine goodnight Cecilia."
But, it really wasn't fine, and with that I put my phone down and cried myself to sleep because that's the only way I knew how.
