Reasons Why We Should Stay Single

Reason #1

To be Spontaneous and Free

We ladies love to be free, to do whatever we want.

Like go to the beach, get a pedicure, and spend our money, how we want to spend it. We need to stop depending on other people to have fun, especially guys.

If you're not single, then you spend all your time wondering what he thinks of you. We define ourselves on what the male population thinks of us. And that needs to stop. So if you're single, or had your heart broken, then go out and do something for yourself, and nobody else. Show yourself that you don't need someone by your side.

Good luck,

Aubrey.

I finish writing, hit post, and close my laptop. It is my first blog post, and I admit, I am satisfied. Someone needs to let the world know that being single is okay, and that you don't need to have a boyfriend to be happy.

Alright, alright; so the actual reason I started this blog was because I was a broken hearted girl.

Key word: was.

I decided a few months ago that I didn't need to have a boyfriend because it isn't worth the pain. And I want to give reasons to girls like me that being single is better.

It happened at the first day of summer; I was at the movies with my best friend when I saw my boyfriend, ex-boyfriend now, Patrick Flynn, sucking on another girls face. It hurt so much to see the boy I thought I loved with another girl.

Yet again, key word: thought.

Not letting Patrick see me, I pulled out my phone to snap a picture before confronting him. I took the picture just for back up, knowing Patrick would say nothing happened. He would lie to my face and deny everything. So, hurt and pissed off, I marched over to where they were standing by the popcorn machine and yanked his arm around so that he faced me.

I admit, I'm not the violent type of girl, yet I slapped him in the face so hard that spit came flying from his mouth.

So what? He deserved it.

The girl squealed, eyes widening in shock. Patrick stood for a minute, then glared at me. But as he realized that I had caught him and his cheating, his eyes softened.

"It's not what it looks like," he said, but I cut him off with a wave of my hand. I didn't want to listen to his excuses and less if he started his whole speech with that cliché phrase.

"Whatever, Pat. We are done." It wasn't long until my best friend, Fizzy, came over to join our little party. She looked just as angry as I felt. The girl behind Patrick asked what was going on, and Patrick rubbed his temples.

"Aubs, please-" Pat begged me to forgive him, to let the kiss slide, but I'm not a fool.

Once a cheater, always a cheater, right?

"Save it." Then, I looked at the girl he was just kissing. I didn't recognize her. She had long black hair and was taller than me. "Don't get caught up in this scum." I turned on my heel, letting Fizz follow behind me.

"Oh and, here, take this." Fizz threw the rest of her popcorn on Patrick. "Don't ever mess with my best friend, ever again." I smirked and side hugged her when we were leaving the theatre. I was so upset, but no tears left my eyes.

Once I was home, in my room, with my door locked, I burst into tears. James, my older brother, heard me and forced his way into the room, making me spill my guts to him. After comforting me, he left my room and had a conference with my other brothers; Jayden, Mason, Aaron, and Riley.

They, however, were violent people. Let's just say that Patrick ended up with a black eye and a cut lip. Brothers, ya gotta love them.

I spent a few days upset, but then I got myself together and made a pact. Mostly with myself.

I would find reasons to stay single, because being single meant my heart would be safe from boys like Patrick who thought they could just toy with me like he did.

And so far?

I'm having a blast.
