--- rains POV ---

I was in a smithy, that much was sure. There was a was a woman hammering iron on the anvil, singing.

My dreamself joined in, at the male part, and picked up a pair of tongs, holding the metal as she hammered. My voice was small and high, but beautiful, as was hers.

I considered the woman. Tall, very tall, but I was very short, so she could be a dwarf. Long whiskey colored hair was pulled back in a messy bun, and her skin was smudged in oil and grease, and soot.

And yet I couldn't help but think she was the most lovely person in the world. It confused me.

Then she smiled at something over my shoulder, and continued singing and hammering.

A man wrapped arms around her waist, making sure to stay out of her way, and kissed her neck.

She smiled, quenched the hot metal, and then turned to him, laughing. She spoke in Lucinda's language. "Well hullo, back already? You missed us, eh?"

He replied in the same language, and his voice made me giggle. There was magic in it. "Yes I missed you. After all, my son is learning so quickly how to forge and sing, now, he must learn how to play!"

He kissed her lips, a deep lingering kiss that made me false gag at him, and he laughed.

"Alright, son. Come on, let's learn." He handed me a pipe, small, made of silver, but it grew to the perfect size in my hands.

"That pipe holds a small bit of my magic. It will always be exactly what you need." I slowly brought it to my lips on some instinct, and played a blacksmith tune, a tale of war.

The music became magic, and mothers arms bulged as she slammed the hammer down on the anvil, cracking it.

The man quickly sang a different melody, one of peace and happiness. I stopped playing, and asked what was wrong.

"You've definitely inherited my gift, boy. When you sing, or play, the people around you obey the music. Try to not play angry songs around humans."

"What's a human?" I asked innocently.

"The people without pointy ears, like your mother." He replied, chuckling. I laughed as well.

"Okay. That's what should I play?" I asked. The dream was interrupted by a giant paw slamming on my chest.

"Ouch you bastard... Oof. All right. Sunset?" I said.

He snorted, and nodded, eyes happy. I quickly spelled Scarlett and the raven against my pipes, and started playing.

"What are you playing for?" Casti asked.

I stopped briefly. "I want the civilians and servants out of the castle before we burn it down."

I started playing again, and the sun disappeared below the horizon. I opened my grimoire with one hand, found Thrax, and summoned him.

It requires a lot of energy, and most of what I'd regained was gone now, but whatever. Soldiers are easy enemies for him.

"What are my orders, master?" He asked.

"Kill the soldiers in the city and barracks silently. We'll handle the castle." I said, and he surged off.

I whistled up a horse, and he came already equipped with a carriage. Nice. I attached Scarlett to the lead, and Casti hopped in the back, hidden.

I got on the drivers bench, and drove to the castle gates, covering my hair. 'What's in the back, Casti?'
