I can be bitter, & I can be blunt
At worst, when I don't get what I want
With best of intentions, I don't deserve the pain
But you play it so sweetly, my heart, your refrain
I do get angry, this perpetual hurt
If my heart's not invisible, then yours is inert
For all who have come here, I love you the best
Only one I felt worthy, without any test
But I cannot blame you for not loving me
For I am the Bathsheba to your Gabriel you see
I'm unforgiving, relentless & strong
Maybe I'm my undoing, I admit I was wrong
But you have no right, to claim love keeps you denied
When it's I, who for you, countless times I would die
But you are a war I have already lost
It never mattered to me, just how much it cost.
