All I could hear were the drowned out screams and explosions. I struggled to open my eyes only to see the rising smoke and sun above me. I was covered in blood and my hiyabusa armor was broken in several places but I was in such a state of shock, there was nothing I could do about it. I heard another explosion relatively close to me that caused dirt to fly into my face. I blinked several times in an attempt to remove the dirt and turned my head in the opposite direction. I was shocked to see by friend Akihiko lying next to me with his armor broken, shattered just like him. He was gone, his body limp and lifeless.

"Who could have done this?" I said.

I suddenly saw the silhouette of some figure out of a shroud of darkness off the horizon

"Oh yea, that's what happened"

"Grab him, he's still alive!" I heard a muffled voice yell echoing across the decimated battlefield.

A great sense of fear shot through me as I wondered who it could have been. The first thought that ran through my mind was if I was going to get captured by the enemy. I sat there completely motionless and defenseless. I couldn't be captured. What if they torture me to get information? I suddenly saw a face hovering over me. The first thing I noticed was the medical cross on the man's white vest and realized he was one of the field medic personnel. Another field medic appeared and they lifted me onto a stretcher. I blacked out, The last thing I remember was the murky gray sky filled with ashes and smog of explosion fallout. Then there was darkness. I awoke on medical table. The first thing that I saw was the blinding light hanging from the ceiling. Looking at my arm and noticed it was heavily bandaged and so was the rest of my body. As I was lying there, all the visuals of the devastating and painful battle came rushing back into my mind. The faces of my fallen friends rushed into my head all of them gone. Then almost instantly sunk in a sense of helplessness, just siting there knowing there was nothing I could do made me restless and furious.

"Stop him before he tears out his stiches!" screamed one of the field medics.

She was a beautiful female medic that had blond hair and a long ponytail flowing down her back. She wore white robes with a vibrant red under shirt and skirt to match. She also wore white heels with crisscross laces. Two of the field medics grabbed me and pinned me to the table.

"Calm down Eiichi" yelled one of the medics that pinned me to the table.

I began to calm down when I figured out where I was. The two medics that held me down released me. I looked around the medical room. I sat up on the operation table and looked around. I saw the tables with medical instruments lined up on the tables. I quickly covered my face as tears began to run down my cheeks.

"What happened?" I asked with a trembling voice.

"Yami no Maebure happened." she answered.

"This is all my fault." I said.

"There was nothing you could have done." She replied.

"I should have been ready none the less."

"You have to stop blaming yourself for what happened."

"What happened to the survivors and civilians?" I said trying to change the subject.

"They have been evacuated to the neighboring lands." She responded. "What about my family?" I asked as my voice quavered.

"They have been evacuated to along with the rest of the civilans, but Yami no maebure darkness is spreading. It is only a matter of time before he controls everything. I'm sorry but our great city of Hinansho has fallen."

"Well, at least I know they are safe for now?" I said knowing it didn't make me feel any better.

"Help him to his quarters, Fumihiko."
