We entered his home. It looked like the casual farmers home. The wallpaper was designed with red and white stripe patterns. He had hard wood floors with a tan colored couch in the center of the room. The first thing I noticed was that there was no one else there.

"Do you live here by yourself?" I questioned.

"Yea, I lived here for years." he acknowledged.

"What about family?" "Don't have any." He answered nonchalantly as he entered the kitchen.

I followed into the kitchen where I caught the sweet aroma of chicken soup. I walked over to the rectangular table that was pushed up against a wall and sat down. I looked around the kitchen. I noticed the old style oven and the pot of soup boiling on it and could barely wait to eat. I turned my head to look out of the window across from the table. He had a large field with a large variety of animals. I looked back at the Eito. He made two bowls and walked to the table and sat across from me blocking the view of the field.

"How did you find this place?" he asked me passing me a bowl.

"I wondered here." I said as I started to eat.

"Do you have any idea where you're going?"

"No, I didn't really think that out." I answered.

He let out a deep breathe.

"Do you at least have a place to stay?" he requested slightly agitated.

"N-No I don't." He turned towards the couch in the living room and then turned to look at me.

"Well I guess you could stay here for tonight." "No I really c..."

"You can and you will. It's not like you have somewhere to be.

" He interrupted. After we finished he took my bowl and washed in the sink.

I walked into the living room and sat on the couch. After he finished, he walked up his old rickety stairs and after a few minutes he came back down with blankets. After he put the blankets on the couch, he walked towards the door.

"Where are you going?" I asked as he opened the door.

"I've got to work. This farm doesn't run itself you know."

He exited the house. I hesitated for a moment and then followed him out of the house.

"What do you want now kid?" he turned to me and said.

"I want to help." I said with conviction.

"Do you that a boy like you can handle all that I do around here?"

"Yes," I replied.

"Okay," he said with disbelief.

The rest of that day I learned about the things he did on that farm. There were some experiences that I enjoyed but there were also some experiences that I could have gone my whole life without having. One of them was shoveling cow feces. That was probably the worse experience of my life. The sun began to recede and night began to fall. We walked back to the house and got ready for bed. I made up the couch as he locked the door and turned off the lights. I lied down on the couch as he walked up the stairs to go to bed. I couldn't sleep so I stared at the ceiling. I started thinking. I began to wonder why this man lived out in the middle of nowhere and why did he live by himself. Is it because he enjoys peace and quiet or was he running from something. I eventually got tired and fell asleep. The next morning I awoke bright and early. I was in a good mood so I decided to work on my hand to hand combat and other fighting skills. "I thought you left." I heard Eito say as he entered the barn. "Nope, I was just feeling a little restless and decided to work on my fighting skills." I Acknowledged.
